I placed a huge order with Amazon.de last night:

CLAMP's "Tsubasa Chronicle 9-12"
CLAMP's "xxxHolic 13"
Kazuma Kodaka's "Kizuna 11"
Moka Azumi's "Romance 2"
Marjorie M. Liu's "Iron Hunt"
William Rabkin's "Psych: Mind Over Magic"
Rob Thurman's "Madhouse" and "Deathwish"
Adrian Phoenix's "A Rush of Wings"

Also, I wanted to start reading SG-1's "Siren Song" tie-in but after the bruhaha in the Stargate fandom, I need to take a break from it for a while, so I picked up Jaye Wells' "Red-Headed Stepchild".
katikat: (Default)
Fast & Furious! The Middleman! SG audiobooks "A Necessary Evil", "First Prime" and "Impressions"! And Holly Scott and Jaime Duncan's SG-1 book "Siren Song"! And I also managed to snag SG-1's "Survival of the Fittest" used so now, the only book that I'm missing is SGA's "Halcyon"! I feel like floating on a cloud of glee!

Also, the book that I'm reading now - Marcus Pelegrimas' "Blood Blade" - is quite good so far! It's one of those that I need to review for my boss :)

And I'm pondering a huge order from Amazon.de - manga and books that I've wanted for some time... *bounces*

Amazon!

My Psych S3 DVDs arrived! *bounces* How awesome is that? Totally, I know *bounces some more*

On the other hand, Amazon US took down two SG books: Kevin Hosey's "The Internal Darkness" which should've been SGA's book #13 and Steven Savile's "Shadows: Book One of the Iblis Trilogy" which should've been SG-1's book #14. I mean, I know that they moved all the SG books back like 4 months to Oct-Nov-Dec and Mark over at Fandemonium told me that the only books that they are activelly working on now are "Valhalla" by Tim Waggoner (SG-1 #14), "Brimstone" by David Niall Wilson & Patricia Lee Macomber (SGA #12) and "Dead End" by Chris Wraight (SGA #13) but "The Internal Darkness" already had a cover art on Amazon US and "The Iblis Trilogy" was advertised over on GW where they made a big thing of it...

I just hope that a) these books won't get scrapped entirely and b) that Fandemonium will finally learn how to keep a schedule! Their publishing plan for this year is one huge, terrible mess :( I'm really disappointed. I mean, I always get my hopes up for another SGA book only to see it postponed AGAIN! It's rather disheartening :(

Amazon UK is having a sale again - and they are selling Babylon 5 The Complete Collection for 59.97 pounds only! That means all the B5 eps ever produced, the complete series of Crusade, all six B5 movies with the extras and The Lost Tales in one shiny box! Are they trying to make me commit accounticide? *whimpers*

Goodies

So many goodies from so many DVDs are being leaked - from Supernatural to The Middleman - but I'm being a good girl and not clicking on the links. These extras are the cherry on top when you buy your favorite show on DVD, they are like a birthday present, something to look forward to. Getting them in advance is... spoiling the fun, I guess, at least for me :)

Oh, and how I envy you people in the US, UK, France and Germany for having Amazon. If I lived in one of the "Amazon countries" as they call the countries to where they are willing to send used goods, I would buy used books only and stuff myself to bloating. So many awesome, great, fantastic books are being sold for like $0.01 used! I don't care if a book is old or new as long as I can read the letters. Watch me pout here :(

I'm listening to Joel Goldsmith's Stargate Atlantis OST - the man is a master - and it makes me all... emotional. It reminds me of so much stuff that I loved about the show. Tracks like "Atlantis Wakes" or "Teyla's Village" are stunning.

And speaking of SGA, I love this canvas print! The colors, the details! But especially the colors! It would fit perfectly in my room - orange is my color of choice for my bedroom. It's... stunning. I don't usually buy stuff like that - prints, posters etc. - but I'm really tempted to buy this one!

... at the stuff that I have pre-ordered:

DVDs:
Castle: The Complete First Season (September 22, 2009)
Leverage: The Complete First Season (July 14, 2009)
Psych: The Complete Third Season (July 21, 2009)
Stargate Atlantis: The Complete Fifth Season (June 30, 2009)
Supernatural: The Complete Fourth Season (TBD)
The Middleman: The Complete Series (July 28, 2009)

And books:
Stargate Atlantis: Brimstone: SGA-12 (Jun 25, 2009)
Stargate Atlantis: The Internal Darkness: SGA-13 (Aug 25, 2009)
Stargate Atlantis: Dead End: SGA-14 (Sep 25, 2009)

Am I forgetting anything important?

Lie to Me

The pilot of Lie to Me has been sitting on my HDD for months - and now I finally watched it! And it was so good! Like The Mentalist but different, funny and interesting in its own way. I'm thinking of buying the show on DVD - to download the rest of S1 would be a pain in the butt XP Anyone on my flist watching this show?

And speaking of DVDs - I ordered SG-1's Continuum because Amazon dropped the price to $6.99 only - it doesn't get any lower than that! Now to get S10 and I will have the whole SG-1 series in my grabby hands!
And I added the show Acapulco H.E.A.T. to my order - the whole series (two seasons) for $9.99! Yes, Amazon is having a huge sale again :) I used to love this show to pieces - it's one of those "directly to syndication" series like Baywatch: beautiful people, not much plot ;P I just loved Michael Worth playing the martial artist Tommy. Gorgeous guy!

Amazon added the summary of SGA's book 12 - "Brimstone" by David Niall Wilson (date: Jun 25th, 2009):
"The Stargate Atlantis team discovers a city on a moon that's about to plunge into its own sun. But the city which looked as if it had been abandoned turns out to be inhabited by descendants of the Ancients who have fallen into decadence and debauchery. Faced with a dissolute society disinterested in their own fate and unable to escape, the team must fight their way free before being plunged into a fiery death."

May I hope for a real team adventure? I mean - John, Rodney, Teyla and Ronon? And not the team plus Keller for whatever dumb reason? I loved all the books that were based on SGA's seasons 1 to 3. The latest one - "Nightfall" by James Swallow - was based on S4 and it was a real disaster. Keller where Keller should no place to be and Carter completely pushing McKay out of the picture. I want the team! My team! The banter and fun! *crosses fingers*

ETA: The other two books that should come out this year yet:
SGA-13 -> "The Internal Darkness" by Kevin Hosey (Aug 25th, 2009)
SGA-14 -> "Dead End" by Chris Wraight (Sep 25th, 2009)

* I changed my layout again, new header and all. It's really curious what you can do with PhotoFiltre when you are patient enough :P

* I ordered season 6 of SG-1 on DVD. Now, all I have to do is get seasons 7, 8 and 10 and Continuum and I will own the whole show!

* I also pre-ordered Peter Evans' "Angelus", a SGA tie-in novel - from Amazon, this time. Hopefully, this one will arrive as it should *crosses fingers*

SG-1

I ordered S4 and 5 of Stargate SG-1 on DVD. Amazon's having a sale again! And yes, I still haven't even unpacked S1 to 3 but it's a real deal to get the DVDs for just $21.99 a season these days!

So, I need to do some TV marathons soon: due South, Stargate SG-1, NCIS... Yeah, as soon as I catch up on the shows that air now, that is. I'm so behind on stuff that it's not even funny *head/desk*

From Amazon.com, I received today:
Nicholas Knight's "Supernatural, The Official Companion S3"

From Amazon.de, I received:
William Rabkin's "Psych: A Mind Is a Terrible Thing to Read", a Psych tie-in novel
Holly Scott and Jaimie Duncan's "Hydra", an SG-1 tie-in novel
Paul Ruditis "Leo Rising", a Charmed tie-in novel
Yun Kouga's "Loveless 2+3"
CLAMP's "X 1" and "Tsubasa 2+3+4"
Hirotaka Kisaragi's "BrotherxBrother 3"
Ayano Yamane's "Finder 4"

My Boss wants me to review:
Jennifer Rardin's "Once Bitten, Twice Shy"
John Meaney's "Bone Song"
Lilith Saintcrow's "Night Shift"
Marcus Pelegrimas' "Blood Blade"
Jim C. Hines' "The Stepsister Scheme"
Jaye Wells' "The Red-Headed Stepchild"

I also need to read Tom Lloyd's "Stormcaller" since I will be translating part 2!

And SGA's new tie-in novel "Nightfall" by James Swallow is on its way to me, too! Hopefully, it'll arrive soon. I can't wait for more adventures of Team!Sheppard! :)

Two parcels were shipped to me today:

* "Supernatural: The Official Companion, Season 3" by Nicholas Knight. Because I quite disliked S3 - yes, a Bela!hater here - I stopped reading every article that popped up on the net last year. That's why I hope to read some interesting and new - for me, that is - things in the companion...

* And this jigsaw puzzle. I just love the colors. Do you maybe know who painted the picture, my dear flist?

GW posted an interview with writer Sally Malcolm who is also the co-owner of Fandemonium that publishes various Stargate tie-in novels. Her career sounds like a fairy tale coming true. I'm glad to see a fanfic writer succeeding so thoroughly in the publishing industry! According to Sally, 18 SG books are out and almost the same number is in various stages in production! Awesome! So many books to look forward to. I just hope that the two new SGA books will come out soon. They should have been published last year already, then this January and still nothing *sigh*

And speaking of books, I ordered Sabine C. Bauer's SG-1 tie-in novel "Trial By Fire" (Amazon.co.uk is the only Amazon that still lists it as "in stock") and Perry Moore's "Hero". I also want to finish Strout's "Dead To Me" this weekend!

Wow, they really are going darker this season...

My spoilery thoughts... )

I'm actually seriously considering getting into CSI: New York! It was recommended to me as a great team!show and then I saw this song vid...

You see, I intensely dislike both CSI and CSI: Miami. The former has very unlikable characters and there's no team!feeling there, the latter... ugh, I hate David Caruso. So, yeah.

But in CSI: New York, there's Gary Sinise and Melina Kanakaredes! Well, I will try an ep or two and we will see...

Oh, and since I finished my translation according to my plan, I celebrated it by ordering S2+3 of SG-1 on DVD \o/

Shows!

I just ordered seasons 1-3 of NCIS on DVD from Amazon.com. Yeah, yeah, I know that it's 96$ (without shipping!) but Amazon dropped the price of NCIS 50%! That's as low as they ever went! So now, it's 32 bucks for a season instead of 42! And since I wanted to buy the whole show on DVD anyway... /o\

Also, what the heck's going on with the torrents lately? Still no free torrent for Leverage or Eleventh Hour! And no Psych either! *grumbles*
katikat: (Default)
I started reading Matthew Reilly's "Ice Station" and let me tell you, it so reminds me of SGA! It takes place in Antarctica where a polar station discovers a space ship underground. And the rescue unit, Marines, sets out from McMurdo, being led by a man who is consider to be too young for actual leadership - so, it's all there: Antarctica, a space ship under the ice, a too young leader... Awesome! \o/

Also, why does Amazon keep discounting The Arc of Truth and Continuum BluRay but not Continuum itself? It's rather frustrating! /o\

Aww...

Rottweiler puppy with hiccups! *dies of the cute*

Also:
* Datart will deliver our new washing machine on Tuesday! *dances*
* Why did Amazon discount SGA to 19.99$ and SG-1 is still 26$+? *pouts*
* They will start airing Boston Legal here on Monday evening!
* Amazon.co.uk postponed the deliver of The Covenant movie again! If they do it one more time, I will order it from Amazon.com! *glares*
* Da Vinci Code, here I come!
katikat: (Default)
Totally random...
* I adore Rob Dougan's song "Clubbed to Death"!
* My email box - organized!
* My DVD collection - organized!
* Need to catch up on: Leverage, Merlin, Numb3rs, Stargate Atlantis
* Still need to finish watching: Scarecrow and Mrs. King, Torchwood, Sanctuary
* Need to organize: my anime and audiobooks files, my ebooks

My latest resolution? To try and post only positive stuff until the end of the year!

I also ordered The Covenant on DVD. Four gorgeous guys with magical powers? Bring it on!
katikat: (Default)
Wow, I'm floored. My Sports Night DVDs arrived. I ordered them last Tuesday from Canada! The delivery date was set for Jan. 31th 2009! And they are here. Now. Instead of a month, it took the box set not even a week to arrive! I'm... floored. I have no words. Wow!

Also, and now I will be very rude, I have had fucking enough of people who watch Supernatural - I can't call them fans - complaining about the series being either a Dean!show or a Sam!show. For Christ's sake! There are stories that need to be told and sometimes it's Dean's story, sometimes Sam's. I didn't complain when at the beginning, one of the main storylines was Sam going/not going dark. I won't complain now that Dean's discovering what role he plays in the whole Heaven vs. Hell thing. I like both storylines, evil!Sammy and angelic!Dean, or what do you want to call them. Why does it have to be the one or the other? *hands* Like children, really. I still like the show but the fandom is nuts! X(
