Despite mediocre ratings, ABC gave Forever a back-nine order, which means, we'll be getting at least 22 episodes this season! Link. I don't expect a S2 pick-up after that, the ratings are really bad, but I hope the writers will be smart enough - unlike those of The Tomorrow People! - not to end the season on a cliffhanger with fingers crossed for a pick-up. That's selfish and unfair to the viewers, IMHO. So yeah, I hope we get a passable ending, with some loose ends, sure, but an ending nonetheless!

Also, I decided to drop Stalker. I really don't like any of the characters and if I wanted to watch a show about cops chasing psychos, I would rather watch Criminal Minds where the team actually feels like a family, where they trust each other. Which reminds me, I should really watch it. Hm.

Also #2, what's going on with most shows this season? I mean, their ratings! Haven 0.2 demo. White Collar 0.4 demo. Covert Affairs 0.3 demo. Even Graceland - which I don't watch - 0.4 demo. What the heck? *hands* These shows - well, except for Haven which mostly got 0.5 demo - were all 'round the 0.8-1.0 series!

Wow, did you see what the Teen Wolf team is doing in their Tumblr? They are posting riddles for next week's episode, Riddled, there, letting people solve them: link. Like...

The more you have of it, the less you see?

What is always coming but never arrives?

What gets bigger the more you take away?

I wonder if these are hints at what will happen to Stiles. I mean, the answers are cut, just to be sure! ) Does that mean that Stiles will be speculations based on the promo and the synopsis for 319! ) The hints and the synopsis do sound really ominous.

Also, Melissa Ponzio wrote in her Tumblr that the connection Melissa made between Stiles and Claudia would be important. Curious!

I also loved this bit that she posted:

hey friends…

just a quick thanks for all the amazing outpouring of love for the scene between dylan and me last night. when we were shooting it, many crew and cast thought it was going to be special, and i feel it is. by much of what you’ve tweeted/posted it’s affected many of you as well. i’d like to thank jeff davis once again for his words... he is sharing a huge piece of himself with you guys thru us as actors…think about that. i feel it’s a gift and hope you do to.

xo-melissa

#ThanksMom trended as #1 worldwide! And after the ep ended, after the final scene, Stiles trended worldwide too. No wonder, that was a huge shock, wasn't it?

Also, I wish the so called fans would take Melissa Ponzio's word to heart before shitting on Jeff Davis day in, day out.

Oh, and TW earned a whole 1.0 demo points this Monday. That's HUGE for MTV, that's like twice to three times more than Syfy's getting on the same night with similar shows - Syfy actually had to move their own werewolf show Bitten out of TW's way because TW was literally pummeling it to the ground (yeah, I don't get what genius thought it a good idea to put a new were show against an established, highly popular were show... only on Syfy, really!)

"Our show is about the bromance between Will Graham and Hannibal Lecter - Hannibal is so unique in his crazy and Will is so unique in his crazy, and these two crazy men need each other to understand themselves."

Source

I really love this description! Both men crazy yet fitting together like two jigsaw puzzle pieces. Neat.

Also, Hannibal's ratings: 1.6 --> 1.7 --> 1.4 --> unaired --> 1.0 --> 1.0... So yeah, don't expect S2 unless some cable snatches it up like TNT did with Southland.

Of merits

As you probably noticed, I've been more into movies than TV shows lately. I just can't find any enthusiasm for TV in me these days, I don't know why. But it has its merits, too. What? Since I started watching more movies, I stopped worrying about TV ratings.

You see, I used to watch TV shows with one eye aimed at their ratings, always worrying about how they were doing, what their chances for renewal were... It was always in the back of my mind. Yeah, I'm a worrier, sue me. But now? It doesn't really affect me, not in any deeper than a "huh, interesting" way. Take The Mentalist and Castle, for example - both hit series low with their latest episodes (in both cases it was lead-in related). But instead of being all anxious about it, I mostly feel... I mean, if it's their last season, I wouldn't mind. The same goes for other shows that hit their rock bottoms lately, like Haven or Warehouse 13. It happens.

It's a really interesting state of mind for me. I've never been particularly zen about stuff like that. And now I am. Strange.

Talk about ratings. Looper topped the theater charts in both UK (Ł2.4 mil.) and Australia ($2.9 mil.). Interesting. Still waiting for that record breaking Chinese box office number. I'm now really curious :P

NCIS:LA - Cyber Threat )

303 promo

And now to ratings...

Supernatural is doing pretty badly - last night, it hit series low in viewers and demo. If it weren't enough that the whole CW is doing badly, Nikita is dragging SPN down - despite everything, even this week SPN managed to grow out of its lead-in (0.7 out of 0.6), but how long will that last? *sigh* I think I'll watch SPN's S7 as if it was its last season. We're getting and additional episode - 23 instead of 22 - and that will have to be enough...

All my other shows are safe, ratings wise, maybe except for The Mentalist which is pretty much 50-50...

TVLine posted a great interview with Shane Brennan about NCIS:LA's season finale. There are small spoilers, so beware.

My favorite part! )

I so can't wait, peeps! Supernatural, NCIS and NCIS:LA are my favorite series at the moment and I can't wait to see their season finales.

ETA: And another article! How awesome is that?

And speaking of Supernatural, did you know that last Friday, it topped Smallville's ratings - 1.0 to 0.8 demo respectively (huge for the CW!) - and thus became the CW's 2nd best rated show of the week? How awesome is that!
katikat: (spn-dvd-cover)
Did you know that Supernatural was the best rated show in the A18-49 demography on the CW last week? With 1.0 demo, it beat both Smallville and America's Next Top Model - The Vampire Diaries was in repeat. It grew out of SV in A18-49, A18-34 and W18-34 - in W18-34, it built on SV up to 67%! Go, SPN, GO! *cheers*
katikat: (spn-green)
Fringe didn't murder Supernatural in the ratings last night! SPN got 2.3 mil. and 1.0 demo which is even with its last episode aired in December. Fringe dropped from 1.9 to 1.6 demo, though :( But, as much as I love Fringe, in the showdown between Fringe and SPN, SPN would win any day for me - so, Fringe's drop makes me a bit sad but I'm ecstatic that SPN held its numbers. Hopefully, it'll keep doing so *knocks on wood and crosses fingers for good measure*

Quickie!

HUGE ratings for both NCIS and NCIS:LA last night:

NCIS: 21.9 mil., 4.5 demo
NCIS:LA: 18 mil., 3.7 demo

Wow, just wow!

And CBS & WB closed a $260+ million deal and renewed The Big Bang Theory for another 3 years! Wow!
katikat: (spn-new-chair3)
Supernatural:

The title of the 612 ep is: spoilers )

Kristin E! posted a very vague spoiler that's obviously Sam-related: spoilers )

And the Live+7 ratings for the ep that aired on Oct. 8th are in - SPN's demo increase? 40% (up to 1.4)! SPN is second among all broadcast shows, right after NBC's Parenthood! Link.

Now the bad news about The Whole Truth because I know some people on my flist are watching it/want to watch it: It was canceled, sorry :(
katikat: (spn-laughter)
For the first time ever, SPN beat SV in both the A18-49 and the A18-34 demo! For the FIRST TIME EVER, folks!

Smallville 1.0 A18-49, 1.0 A18-34
Supernatural 1.1 A18-49, 1.2 A18-34

And demo's what's important, not the overall viewership. SV tied Nikita this week in both the demos!

The funny thing? Supernatural - together with Hellcats - has the cheapest ad rates on all broadcast: 30 sec. promo costs only $30k (link). What an irony...

The fourth episode of Stargate Universe's second season made for the franchise's first trip south of the 1 million mark for live viewing. Pathogen drew an estimated 974,000 viewers (on Tuesday), according to sources at PIFeedback.com. This is a drop of over 20 percent from the previous week's season high. Link

Honestly!

So, the ratings for the first two eps of SGU's S2 are in...

201: 1.18 mil., 0.5 demo
202: 1.07 mil., 0.5 demo

And I feel like spitting nails, peeps. Remember SGA? Doing 1.6 mil. on average in their fifth season? When it got canceled? When we were told that if the ratings were good, the show would be still on air? And it was replaced with... with... that?!

*deep breath* I'm so angry right now, I'm seeing red!
katikat: (W_Laptop)
Don't get too attached to your shows. Why?

Undercovers: 1.6 demo
The Whole Truth: 1.3 demo
The Good Guys: 0.9 demo
Hellcats: 0.9 demo

Other shows falling fast: Raising Hope, Running Wilde

And shows that just don't well: Chuck, Chase, Parenthood, Fringe - and pretty much every show on the CW on Monday and Tuesday.

On Cable? SGU is pretty much done if it doesn't increase its ratings, 201 got 1.17 mil. viewers and 0.5 demo - series low, the lowest season premiere of any SG show ever, way below SGA's S5 and SGU's S1...

And that's just the series I remembered off the top of my head. So, yeah. If you do watch these shows, prepare yourself to be disappointed.

Awesome!

Super Friday night for The CW.

Strategy of pairing Smallville/Supernatural again on the night paid off.

The premiere of Smallville’s final season won its time period in adults 18-34 (1.2/5), men 18-34 (1.5/6), men 18-49 (1.4/6). Smallville beat ABC and FOX in adults 18-49 (1.3/5).

Smallville delivered The CW’s best performance in the Friday 8-9pm time period in 2 years in total viewers (2.9mil) and adults 18-49 (1.3/5).

The debut of Supernatural scored The CW’s best performance in the time period in 2 years in all key categories, including adults 18-34 (1.3/5), adults 18-49 (1.2/4), men 18-34 (1.5/6), men 18-49 (1.3/5) and viewers (2.8mil).

Supernatural won the 9-10pm hour in men 18-34 (1.5/6) and beat ABC and FOX in adults 18-49 (1.2/4), men 18-34 (1.5/6), men 18-49 (1.3/5).

The CW was #1 on Friday night among adults 18-34, men 18-34 and men 18-49 (1.4/5).

This was the CW’s best Friday in total viewers (2.85mil), adults 18-34 (1.3/5), and men 18-34 (1.5/6) in two years (since 9/26/08, the final Smackdown). It was our best performance in adults 18-49 (1.2/4) and men 18-49 (1.4/5) since the two-hour SMALLVILLE “Absolute Justice” episode in February 2010. Link

Awesome! Peeps, SV and SPN were third last night, SPN even beat an original ep of The Good Guys in demo! Wow.
katikat: (woman-laptop-white)
So, Nikita aired last night - but that's not what's interesting. The ratings are. Look:

While the series premiere of Nikita drew a 1.4 adults 18-49 rating, that’s identical to Supernatural’s season premiere in that timeslot last season. (...) Nikita scored a 1.9 for women 18-34 (up 12% from last season’s Supernatural premiere) and a 1.3 for adults 18-34 (down 13% from Supernatural).

So, a highly hyped, multi-million dollar series premiere bested the S5 premiere of another show in women 18-34 only? Wow. Just wow.

* Starz picked up Chris Judge's Rage of Angels, a two-hour-long backdoor pilot. Chris Judge will play Archangel Michael who comes to Earth to search for Lucifer. And who does Judge envision to play Lucifer? Michael Shanks!!! Eeeeeeeeee! Hopefully, those two will be in it together! \o/

* According to WCwriters' tweet, there's a good chance that WhiCo will have an extended S2 premiere! *crosses fingers*

* SyFy orders a comedy pilot about scifi actors with Michael Rosenbaum! He's so cute with hair!

* Ricky Martin comes out! Aww, cute! I've loved him and his music for years. I have several of his albums at home and there's so much energy in his songs... Loved this: "I am proud to say that I am a fortunate homosexual man. I am very blessed to be who I am."

* David James Elliot cast in Soundrels, as "the patriarch of a family of criminals who decide to go straight after he is arrested." Might be interesting...

* Don Johnson "in negotiations for the lead role on ABC's sitcom pilot, Southern Discomfort. Sounds interesting two!

* New sexy promo for Castle.

* And Supernatural returned with 2.95 mil., 1.2 demo! Woohoo!

The Bank Job )

Have you seen the ratings? 17.91 mil. and 4.1 demo against Lost! Wow! And it held 100% of NCIS' demo!

No new eps until... when? *pouts*
katikat: (Default)
Bones 5x09 )

Numb3rs 6x09 )

Numb3rs 6x10 )

N3 is basically dead, though. It's obviously the last season. The ratings are dropping week after week. Last Friday? 7.38 mil., 1.6/5 demo. Ouch.

Castle! )

And the show hit season high at 9.99 million viewers and 2.5/7 A18-49 demo!
