Sherlock S4 Trailer!
Jul. 24th, 2016 11:14 pm*dolphin noises* OMG! Still at least five and half months away, but I'm literally making dolphin noises here. Whenever I think this show has let me go, I'm reeled back in like a fish on a hook!
The first series was all about the beginning of their friendship. Second about the formative stages, the love and fear and loss and all that. The third was good days, me and my pal and my pal’s wife. Those are golden days. The missing element in a lot of Sherlock Holmes adaptations is allowing it to be funny. There’s a lot of humor in Sherlock Holmes, and it’s ignored in a lot of adaptations. [Season 4] is going to be… I suppose you’d say… consequences. It’s consequences. Chickens come to roost. It’s dark in some ways—obviously it’s great fun and a Sherlock Holmes romp and all that—but there’s a sense of… things… coming back to bite you. It’s not a safe, sensible way to live. It’s hilarious and exhilarating some days, but some days it’s going to be bloody frightening.
[It's probably more serialized]. A lot of serialization is latent, isn’t it? It’s hidden. Series 3 doesn’t look very serialized, but you look back at how much we’re setting up Mary [Amanda Abbington] to be who she turns out to be. It will be three stand-alone films, 90 minutes each, and an ongoing mystery, as there sort of always is.
[Fans will be] desperate for series 5. We’re certainly going to put them through the mill. It’s going to be more of an emotional upheaval. Hopefully enjoyable and fun, all the things Sherlock must always be. It will be tough at times. Maybe that’s the word? A tougher series.

“We have a plan to top [the season 3 finale] — and actually I do think our plan is devastating,” he said in comments shared by the Hollywood Reporter. “We practically reduced our cast to tears by telling them the plan. Honestly, Mark [Gatiss] and myself are so excited with what we’ve got coming up, probably more excited than we’ve ever been about Sherlock."

After speculation earlier this year, the BBC has confirmed that hit mystery series "Sherlock" will film three new episodes and a special in 2015. Filming is scheduled to begin with said special in January, followed by the three episodes.

About the upcoming slate, Moffat stated, "A special, plus a new series of three episodes - it's a record-breaking run! Of course, it's far too early to say what's coming, but we're reasonably confident that the very next thing to happen to Sherlock and John, is the very last thing you'd expect..."
While no official air dates here or across the pond have been announced for the season, Martin Freeman indicated that the special could air Christmas 2015. That, presumably, means the full season would follow in 2016.

Moffat fooled us all. I thought I knew what was going on. Nope.
Lars is horrific. He's so scary. So nasty. He's perfect. He'll make your skin crawl.
The plot is just so amazing and it will shock you and take you by surprise. This show is so freaking clever.
His Last Vow is, [without] a doubt, the BEST episode of #Sherlock ever. My jaw dropped. I gasped. I screamed. I cried.
Moffat confirms another series. For those who still don't believe it.
They're working on days to start filming. Don't know when that'll be.
"We've plotted out series four and five." - Steven Moffat
302 spoiler: When ( spoiler ) Sherlock calls John his "thing", it was because Benedict forgot his line. They kept it.
Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat revealed at a screening of The Sign of Three, the second episode of the third series of Sherlock, that they had already mapped out the adventures of Benedict Cumberbatch’s Sherlock Holmes and Martin Freeman’s Dr John Watson.
The writing duo found themselves hatching their plans for the fourth series on a train journey.
“We always seem to work best on trains,” joked Gatiss.
“It was a very strange day... and we mapped out the whole thing in one exciting journey.”
“Accidentally,” added Moffat. “We hadn’t meant to at all. It’s some of the best stuff we’ve ever come up with.”

“Don’t ever trust us,” said Moffat. “What would you think if we said after this everything would be the same?
“That would be boring, wouldn’t it?”

A posh young man with an outrageous sense of entitlement, solving crimes with his adrenaline junkie mate.
Sherlock Holmes doesn't need another brain, he needs the most reliable, competent, dependable human being in the world and in the judgment of a genius, that's what Dr. Watson is.
Doctor Watson is, of all the people Sherlock Holmes ever met, this is the one he chose to rely on.
We did not quite know what that was going to do to the British and American viewing public! The response has been astonishing! I mean, breathtaking!
