Well, that was a mind trip O.o Quite an interesting meta and a great explanation for Moriarty's return.
One thing, though: many people on Tumblr are using this special as a proof of Canon!Johnlock. Hm. Personally, I love Johnlock fanfics, but I don't think that John and Sherlock are or ever will be a couple on the show, not the way Malec or Coliver or Nagron are couples. I don't doubt that Sherlock is queer; whether he's homosexual, bisexual, asexual or whateversexual, I don't know, but he's definitely not straight. And I'm glad that his sexuality remains nebulous because Tumblr with its obsession with labels makes it sometimes seem like it's critical to put yourself in a certain ---sexual box. I mean, seriously, people are listing their sexual orientation in their bio - why? Just... WHY?
So, I'm glad that it's been made obvious that Sherlock's sexuality is a confusing thing and that he has SOME feelings for John. What the nature of his feelings is, is another mystery, but John's definitely not just a friend for him. At the same time, as I said, I really don't think that Johnlock is an actual thing, definitely not the way Hannigram became a thing at the very end.
To sum it up, I think people are reading way too much into the special's nuances, taking the episode as some sort of a confirmation of their fantasies. It's interesting to read, those metas, that's true, but some of them just make me want to shake my head...
