Most shows already aired their season finales... and I don't give a flying banana *sigh* Not even when it comes to shows I used to follow religiously, shows I used to love. It's like I hit a funk of some kind at the beginning of this year and I can't get out of it. I see people in various fandoms bicker and argue about shipping and whatnot and all I can think is, "Seriously?" while I scroll by. Ship whatever you want to ship, but respect the canon vs. fanon reality, please.

Also, I deleted all the episodes of The Blacklist that I had saved, both those that I've seen already and those that I have not yet. This show lost me around S1.5 and the spoilers I read for S2... Eh. Just... eh. I found Red fascinating but Liz bored me, though I understood her POV. Maybe it was the actress? Who knows.

Maybe I'll pull out some of my old DVDs, return to oldies and goodies. This general feeling of meh is still clinging fast. How annoying...

Caught up on many shows yesterday, like Elementary 303, Haven 510, Scorpion 108 and The Blacklist 205-208. Nothing really stood out for me, though, at least not in a positive way. But there were many things that irked me.

Like, for example, in Haven: did Duke really just spoilers! ) Or in Scorpion: spoilers! )

But what really took the top was Elementary and the road they took with Kitty and her past. Are you fucking kidding me? Spoilers! ) This made me so very, very angry! I can't help but thinking that the writers have a bucket list of social issues and tick them off, saying, "Okay, we covered drug addiction (S1) and addictions in general (S2). What now? How about spoilers )?" FUCK. IT. I'm already annoyed by this season, by Sherlock's attitude towards Kitty and his colleagues - basically anyone but Joan who has a rainbow shooting outta her ass, apparently! - and if this trend continues, I will drop it. The show's been nothing short of bad this season and the ratings reflect that: the latest episode earned 1.0 demo, that's SPN's ratings! I will give it one more episode but if it annoys me again, I will drop the show, I really don't need to feel this irritated week after week.

Caught up on: The Blacklist, yay! But... I don't know, I'm not feeling it this season. It's not bad or boring, it's just not engaging enough for me to want to see new eps nownowNOW, you know? I mean, I really hoped that spoilers! ) I don't know, there's just something... off, missing maybe? *whines*

I watched Sleepy Hollow 201 and The Blacklist 201 but both premieres bored me so much that I honestly don't have anything to say about them. I hope this trend doesn't continue but considering that Haven 501 and 502 also bored me to the point where I had to restrain myself from ffwd'ing through it... Maybe it's me? *hands* I don't know. If the next couple of eps don't grip me, I might just keep on downloading the shows to watch them... at some point.

With the new shows - Gotham, Scorpion, Forever - I'll wait a couple of weeks to see how they settle in the ratings. I really don't want to start a show only to have it canned within 6 episodes.

The book I'm translating now is really pissing me off, a very trying piece of work, let me tell you. It's "The Path of Anger: The Book and The Sword 1" by Antoine Rouaud. I want... I really want to strangle all the characters, either they are blind fools or they're ruled by their genitalia. The last time I got this angry working on a book, it was... either Fiona McIntosh or Sara Douglass, I guess, those were some nightmarish months, two trilogies, 600+ pages per book. This one's luckily only 400+ pages long - and I'm almost at its end, thank the gods above.

The Blacklist just got an early S2 renewal. I still haven't seen more than the first episode though. I have a hard time connecting with the characters. I think I need to be in the proper mood for this show.

But I watched episodes 102-106 of Agents of SHIELD. It's getting slowly better, yet the show remains my biggest disappointment of the season. Because it's good. And it should be excellent. They had everything going for it and yet, the end-result is "only" good. No episode got my heart pumping yet and I ffwd through some of the stuff, mostly Skye related. But either I'm slowly building up my tolerance or they finally started toning down her obnoxiousness. I loved it when spoilers! ) I feel that Skye and Ward are the weakest links: Skye because of how she's written, Ward because of the actor, the guy simply lacks charisma, mostly he just looks constipated. The FitzSimmons are cute - especially in episode 106! - and Coulson and May are golden.

Which reminds me, I think I will look up some Coulson centric fics. I didn't like him in the movies, he was just the guy who stood around, smiling smugly, and I wanted to punch him. But now that we are getting to know him better, I'm finally starting to find him interesting.

Any tips and recs? Slash, het, gen, whatever...

=> Sleepy Hollow was picked up for 13 ep long S2: link. Also, I didn't know that S1 will have only 13 episodes. Interesting. That means, I won't have to wait for the DVD box set till next October. Hopefully!

=> The Blacklist was given a full season pick-up, the so called "back nine": link. Cool! Still haven't seen ep 1 XP

=> Leverage's Aldis Hodge joined the Amazon pilot The After, featuring, among others, Adrian Pasdar: link. It should be an apocalyptic sci-fi from Chris Carter, The X-Files creator.
