And another show dropped. I really liked Sleepy Hollow during the first half of S1. But towards the end of S1, I was starting to lose interest and the season finale literally bored me. But I hoped, maybe S2 would start fresh and surprise me. Alas!

The season premiere barely held my interest and eps 202-204 I only skimmed because as much as I love Ichabod, Abbie and Jenny, I really don't care about Katrina or the captain's storylines, about the Headless Horseman's love issues or whatever. And the whole main arc? No... just no.

And thus I'm dropping the show 4 eps into S2. I might return to it should something interesting happen or once I have nothing else to watch, but right now? I don't give a flying banana about the whole thing.

Shows dropped this year: Gotham, Sleepy Hollow, The Leftovers, The Mysteries of Laura

I watched Sleepy Hollow 201 and The Blacklist 201 but both premieres bored me so much that I honestly don't have anything to say about them. I hope this trend doesn't continue but considering that Haven 501 and 502 also bored me to the point where I had to restrain myself from ffwd'ing through it... Maybe it's me? *hands* I don't know. If the next couple of eps don't grip me, I might just keep on downloading the shows to watch them... at some point.

With the new shows - Gotham, Scorpion, Forever - I'll wait a couple of weeks to see how they settle in the ratings. I really don't want to start a show only to have it canned within 6 episodes.

Well, that was... frantic and disjointed and weird. The music lent to such a feverish pace, even when it was not needed - like them simply walking in the woods - that when it finally came to a really scary, suspenseful scene, I was so tired of being all wired tight, that it actually annoyed me.

The only thing that really surprised me, was spoilers! )

The rest though... spoilers! ) Honestly? I was not impressed.

I guess I liked it better in the beginning, when the show was smaller, more intimate - just like with SPN, when it goes huge, it gets boring, it's the up close and personal storylines that make me feel invested.

I like the characters, Abbie, Jenny and Ichabod - Katrina not really, as I said, too much of a damsel in distress - but I'm not sure if I'll be back for S2. I hope they slow down the frantic pace and give the show cleaner, straighter storylines. But... the season finale didn't really keep my interest.

NCIS:LA 507. I loved both the partner duos this time around SO much! )

Sleepy Hollow 106. I hope Ichabod and Abbie never become a couple, I love them as best friends way too much! )

Supernatural 905. When will Dean tell Sam the truth? Sam is not dumb! )

I'm thinking of dropping Arrow and just watching it later on on DVD. This season simply isn't working for me. Roy Harper is a douche and Laurel is a bitch. Mama Queen's trial. And the island flashbacks still bore me to tears... so many things get on my nerves this season. I just can't find the energy.

Also, I'm starting to feel glad I dropped Person of Interest. The spoilers I came across and reading other people's thoughts... it's not the show I fell in love with anymore.

=> Sleepy Hollow was picked up for 13 ep long S2: link. Also, I didn't know that S1 will have only 13 episodes. Interesting. That means, I won't have to wait for the DVD box set till next October. Hopefully!

=> The Blacklist was given a full season pick-up, the so called "back nine": link. Cool! Still haven't seen ep 1 XP

=> Leverage's Aldis Hodge joined the Amazon pilot The After, featuring, among others, Adrian Pasdar: link. It should be an apocalyptic sci-fi from Chris Carter, The X-Files creator.

I really liked Ichabod - oh my, his accent *_* - and Abbie and I hope their relationship deepens, that they become great friends. Though I'm afraid that the writers will soon start pushing for some romantic tension between them. At this moment, I honestly wouldn't like it. IF they go there, there needs to be much more development first.

There was some scary stuff there. Really, really scary. That was fantastic. And I hope they can keep up the tension.

Overall, a keeper, I would say. But not for a "live" viewing, I think. This is a show made for binge watching because I'm not sure if they can keep up the momentum, they will certainly turn it into a MOTW show, it's headed that way already, and if that's the case, I might lose interest, I'm afraid. As with SPN's Sam and Dean, in SH, I'm most interested in Ichabod and Abbie's relationship, not the horror stuff. So... It is a keeper but probably a DVD material.
