Spider-Man: Homecoming: A funny movie. I think it might be my favorite Spidey film yet. But that doesn't say much since he isn't exactly my favorite character. I loved the bits with Peter and Tony Stark, but the lovey-dovey parts bored me to tears. It was so cliché.

Delivery Man: I bought this film on DVD solely for Matt Daddario who played one of David's 500+ kids, the gorgeous gay one. Turns out, the movie's surprisingly sweet and funny. But yeah. Matt Daddario's Channing is my favorite part of the film.

Star Trek: The 2009 version. I'm not as smitten with it as I used to be. It's still funny and there are some truly amazing scenes in it but my infatuation with the movie kind of worn off. The casting remains perfect, though.

Deepwater Horizon: Still one of the best movies that I've ever seen. The mounting tension, especially when you know how it will end, is positively amazing. Yes, I went to see it in the cinema for Dylan O'Brien who played one of the survivors, but it is a really great movie, overall.

I really needed this vid in here to brighten up my day whenever needed:

They're so precious, I love their friendship so much!

Finally got around to watch this! I dl'd it because it's not available on DVD, AFAIK. It's a sweet story about two best friends, Naomi (who's straight) and Ely (who's gay). They are actually both pretty awful people and they do suffer a bit before they learn to be better.

But I got this movie mainly because of Matt Daddario who plays Gabriel the Doorman, the main witness of all the hoopla going on in the apartment building. And I found his character the most interesting, TBH. When we found out that he had to drop out of college and take this job because he needed to take care of his sick mother who then died, and he is now stuck in this job with no education and no future, his music being the only happy thing in his life - his music and Naomi - my heart just broke for him.

A good movie, nothing special, though.

When the Game Stands Tall: Yes, I immediately ordered the film on DVD and then watched it with the director's commentary. Did you know that the De La Salle vs. Bellevue game shown in this movie was named the greatest high school football game ever played? It was televised by ESPN and Fox News and 15k fans filled the stadium! Christ on a cracker!

And the movie also made me fall in love with this song: Sail by AWOLNATION:

Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters: What a bonkers movie! I loved it in the cinema and I still like it on DVD. I loved that they made Gretel a white witch and gave Hansel diabetes, that they gave them both a weakness. And I loved their love for each other. Amazing. I also love that the movie is so unapologetic in its killing of witches, that's not so common in today's over the top PC culture anymore.

Also, I hope that the TV show they announced based on this movie actually gets made. I would love to see this setting explored, it felt very steam-punk, especially their weapons.

Warcraft: Saw it in the cinema and thought it was pretty good. It did have the feel of a TV production since it was all green-screen - I mean, no wonder, there were so many non-existent locations, after all, and all the TV actors like Callum Keith Rennie or Ruth Negga or Dominic Cooper didn't help - but it was still pretty good. Travis Fimmel was, as always, excellent and Lothar's relationship with Kaghdar reminded me so much of Ragnar's relationship with Athelstan! And I ship Lothar and Garona like whoa!

When the Game Stands Tall: This one I downloaded - and immediately after I finished watching it, ordered it on DVD because IT WAS SO GOOD! I mean, I'm not into inspirational Christian movies, despite being Christian myself, but this one actually inspired me! It had Jim Caviezel and Matt Daddario and Alexander Ludwig... and it was such a wonderful movie about the strength of friendship and putting the team above one's self, I actually had tears in my eyes! And I loved the friendship between Danny (Matt Daddario) and Chris (Alexander Ludwig), it was great.

And it seems that I might have actually written the first ever fanfic for this film. There are none anywhere, I checked. Dude, HOW?

Oh, Matt...

There's something so incredibly mesmerizing about this gif, I could stare at it for hours... Every time I think I'm getting used to Matt Daddario looking gorgeous, he whammies me again, Jesus!
katikat: (A_MattDaddario)

He's so very lovely. And he has the most beautiful smile... *happy sigh* Tonight, folks! Tonight the show premieres at 9/8c on Freeform! \o/

I love listening to him talk about his character. He's so eloquent and he really GETS Alec. And also, to me, his answers are the most interesting ones. Yes, I'm biased, I know, but it also seems to me that he's given the most interesting questions. Like, when there's an interview with Harry Shum Jr., they mostly ask about Magnus' outrageous style, all the glitter, and I would love to hear Harry's thoughts on Malec... But at least Matt's given the opportunity to talk about that.
katikat: (A_MattDaddario)

OMG, he's simply precious, he's definitely my new crush. Gosh, his smile... and when he widens his eyes and is all, "I would never do that!" in this interview, I just want to cuddle him. I'm so very, very, very happy that he plays Alec!

Oh my, I cannot wait for the show to air! 2 more weeks. Also, I adore Matt Daddario's smile, the way it lights up his whole face, the way his eyes crinkle at the corners... I immediately feel like grinning, too.
katikat: (A_MattDaddario)

Each of the characters got one but Alec's was the best, IMHO. They made him so bad-ass, my heart's all aflutter! Good grief, he's GORGEOUS! Is it Jan. 12 yet? *bounces*
katikat: (A_MattDaddario)

*happy sigh* Good grief, he's cute! I mean, is there anything he does not know how to do? He's smart - from what his sister, Alexandra Daddario, said, hellish smart! - he loves to cook, he takes amazing photographs... Just... *happy sigh*

LOOKIE at them! Gosh, gosh, gosh! They will make such a perfect couple on Shadowhunters! Yummy! ♥_♥
katikat: (An_YNM)

This is a wikia interview with Kat McNamara and Dom Sherwood who play Clary and Jace, the famous Clace couple, on Shadowhunters. What's amazing, though, is the friendship between Dom and Matt Daddario. LOL, the way Dom went all "Matthew!!!" when he found out that someone ratted him out as the cast's prankster. And the way he complained how he couldn't get Matt because Matt had a 360° awareness or something and couldn't be pranked! LOL. Well, Matt did say that he wasn't the one pulling pranks on set, that he was the one putting out fires and saving others from pranks, like he did with Kat, LOL!

But the best part? When Dom called to Matt, "Hey, Matt! Are we like parabatai in real life, baby?" Jesus Christ, these two! One of the reporters did say that the fans would love the bromance between Dom and Matt. I hope it projects well on-screen. I mean, they bicker like old ladies whenever they can...

Also, I loved what Dom said about the parabatai bond between Jace and Alec, that parabatai mates' hearts "beat as one in battle." I'm so glad that it will be actually shown on-screen because it's mentioned like once in the books - at the end of book #2, when Alec gets thrown of a ship and starts drowning, Jace literally tastes the water in his mouth, so... From the preview, the fight in Pandemonium, it looks like they will show it, their awareness of each other, their perfect coordination in a battle...

Good grief, this show makes me happy and it hasn't even aired yet!

Seriously, I could listen to Matt Daddario talk for hours. No wonder that one of the adjectives Harry Shum Jr. used to describe Matt was intelligent. The answer he gave to the question about Alec's feelings for Jace, was so well thought out, precise, with no uhm-ing or ahm-ing. You can see that he really thought about it, that he understands his character very well.

And here we have Harry Shum Jr. talking about Magnus' feelings for Alec, what fascinates Magnus about Alec. Based on this, Malec will be utterly wonderful!

And it's actually amazing how well these actors know their characters. It's one of the reasons why I have so much faith in this show, because the writers apparently really understand what the story should be about. Yes, there will be changes from the books, but the writers really GOT the essence of it, who these characters are. And I can take lame action and bad CGI or whatever the flavor of general complaints is today, as long as I get great character moments. And this show will be chock full of them!

YAY, at NYCC today, they posted two sneak peeks from the Shadowhunters premiere. You can watch them here: link. My my, Matt Daddario looks so cool. Also, the show will premiere on January 12 at 9 PM, following Pretty Little Liars.

And especially to all the Alec storylines! Alec and Jace and their parabatai bond! Alec and Magnus and their courtship! Alec and Isabelle and their protective brother-sister bond! Alec and his parents and what they will try to force him to do... EEEEEEEEEEEEEE! Gimme! GIMME NOW!
katikat: (W_Yay)

Yeah, it's LQ, it was ripped from Snapchat, but OMG! OMG! OMG! [livejournal.com profile] sharona1x2! It features both Magnus Bane and Alec Lightwood heavily and there's even a snapshot of them together when Clary talks about destiny! And the rune featured behind Alec? It means "love"!

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! Seriously! I cannot wait for the HQ version! And the cast will be at NYCC this weekend, maybe with a proper trailer! Goodness gracious! I cannot stop staring at Matt Daddario's Alec, I think I have reblogged every pic and gif of him from the trailer over on Tumblr. Just... *dolphin noises*

This is my top show that I'm looking forward to now. GIMME! GIMME NOW!
