I just bought a pile of manga - like I have nothing to read at home, really *snorts*

Clamp's "Card Captor Sakura" vols. 4-6
Clamp's "Magic Knight Rayearth" omnibus 1
Clamp's "xxxHolic" vol. 14
Kae Maruya's "As You Wish!"
Hinako Takanaga's "The Tyrant Falls in Love" vols. 3-5

Yeah, my poor bank account :'(

Hey, my new SGA mood theme is done! You can take a look at it here, if you want. Yay!

Also, I hope to see Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen this weekend. I feared that they would air it dubbed only - all the trailers were dubbed - but no, thankfully, they will be airing it dubbed in one auditorium and subbed in another! My mum and my friends don't understand my aversion to dubbed stuff but since I understand it perfectly in English, I know how much gets lost in the dubbing process!

And I will probably keep reading manga for some time yet. I need to make a dent in the piles and piles of unread books that I stuffed into my closet. And there are like three piles of manga alone!

--> On IMDB, there's a whole thread dedicated to Joe Flanigan's pointy ears. 'nough said XP

--> My manga are here! *petspets*

--> The 2nd X Files movie has earned only 20+ mil. dollars so far? Ouch, that's a flop *cringes*

--> Other movies I want to see in the near future: Hellboy II: The Golden Army (awesome special effects!) and Journey to the Center of the Earth (Brendan Fraser's 2nd movie this year).

--> I finally got my hands on Danielle Steele's "Family Album"! Sheesh!

Book-ish

You remember me talking about how I won't have to translate any books with more than 400 pages this year anymore? I should have bitten my tongue - or my fingers in this case. It looks like I landed the third book in Sarah Douglass' "The Wayfarer Redemption" trilogy. The third book. For real. Some other translator did the first two. God, I hate to take over someone else's work. Especially when that person didn't put together any vocabulary at all so I will have nothing to follow! It'll be Berg's "Rai Kirath" and Brust's "Taltos" all over again! *head/desk*

Last night, I ordered me some manga! *flails*
Hinako Takanaga's "Verliebter Tyrann 1" (Tyrant Falls in Love 1)
Rei Hiroe's "Black Lagoon 1"
Matsuri Akino's "Genju no Seiza 1+2"
Tomo Takabayashi's "Ab sofort Dämonenkönig! 1" (Kyo Kara Maoh! 1)
Shiho Sugiura's "Silver Diamond 1"
Matsuri Hino's "Vampire Knight 2"

Awesome!

I have won many new friends in [livejournal.com profile] storydivagirl's friending meme and so I thought I should tell you something about me... *clears throat*

a) I love Supernatural like a lot. "supernatural" is the tag that I use the most.
b) I really really really hate Bela Talbot to the point of booing aloud when she's on-screen. I have no constraints to bash her in my LJ and I would gladly dance on her grave. I do like Ruby though and I think she kicks ass. Just like Ellen. And Sarah. And Kathleen. Even Jo.
c) I sometimes write fics.
d) English is my third language.
e) I'm 28 and I live in the Czech Republic. I went to the Business Academy, I have a BA in Business German and MA in German Language and Literature and History. And I work as a translator, translating fantasy books from English into Czech.
f) I quite dislike children of any size, shape and age. The little brats give me goosebumps. Though I do love to read kid!fics - I know, I'm weird.
g) I'm quite the TV addict.
h) I love to read books and manga!
i) I'm pro-gay-marriage, pro-gay-rights etc.
j) If you want to see me blow a casket, get in a discussion about organized religion of any sorts with me. I have faith, I do believe in God, but I definitely do not believe that what's stated in the Bible is the one and only truth. If it was, women would still stick at home, barefoot and pregnant!
k) I like smooth jazz and blues, singers like Diana Krall or Sade...
l) Oh, and I try to stay spoiler-free. Uh, I try... I do... Like really... *head/desk*

I think that's it *scratches head* If you want to know more, ask and you shall receive an answer XD

Interesting stuff:
A huge Jared!picspam! And when I say HUGE, I mean HUGE. Definitely NOT dial-up friendly!

A funny comm! [livejournal.com profile] howtheylooknow *g*

I've been reading Hirotaka Kisaragi's "Innocent Bird" trilogy these days. Oh my, the style, the details, the angels, the wings... *combusts* BTW, is Hirotaka Kisaragi male or female? *scratches head*

My dear fellow manga and manhwa lovers, I have a question. We all know that manga reads from right to left, from "back to front". But what about manhwa? I mean, the translated version reads like our "normal" books, left to right, but what about the original?

Ratings for Monday...
Gossip Girl (repeat) 1.25 mil., 0.6/2 demo
Pussycat Dolls (new) 1.57 mil., 0.7/2
New Amsterdam (new) 7.30 mil., 2.3/6

The ratings of New Amsterdam so far? Ouch! I think that only a miracle can save the show now...
March 4 - 13.66 mil., March 6 - 10.57 mil., March 10 - 8.78 mil., March 17 - 7.30 mil.

Another happy entry! *rubs hands*

You see, I'm a Dean girl but Sam, oh my, Sam's lately so... handsome and cool and... "brawny"! Yes, I'm shallow XP I mean, did you see his shoulders in the 3x12 ep? When he sat up on the bed? Oh my, oh wow!

Pictures )

With his longer hair and in that t-shirt... That guy is like so hot! *swoons*

Okay, enough drooling XP

Last night, I plundered my bank account and ordered tons of manga!

"Innocent Bird 2+3" (end of series)
"New York, New York 3+4" (end of series)
"Love Mode 8" (caught up)
"Vampire Knight 1"
"Gestalt 4+5"
"Ja Dou 4+extra volume" (caught up)

*iz dead*

YouTube video Sand Artist! Oh my, oh wow...

I finally read a fic again! :) CWRPS...
"In From the Cold" by [livejournal.com profile] ladyjanelly. It's a WIP and AU. Jared is a doctor in a free clinic, Jensen is homeless and sick. This fic... it's hard to describe... but I would say it's very gentle and quiet, no huge fights, no shocking plot twist... I like it very much :)

What is it with the Japanese and tentacle monsters? I'm reading Mamiya Oki's "Ja-Dou, vol. 3" and wow, tentacle non-con O.o

ETA: What's with photobucket these days? It takes ages for the uploaded pictures to show!
katikat: (Default)
I've been browsing Amazon.de and my fingers ITCH to buy the manga there! I mean...

To be published this year...

And already published...
  • "New York, New York 1-4" by Marimo Ragawa (only a couple of copies left!)
  • "Verliebter Tyrann 1" by Hinako Takanaga (last copy!)
  • And then there is "Ja-Dou" by Mamiya Oki, "In a Distant Time" by Tohko Mizuno, "Kiss Me, Teacher" by Kazuma Kodaka...

*whimpers* I need to SAVE money, not buy stuff!
katikat: (Default)
I started reading "Ja-Dou: Empire of Whispers" by Mamiya Oki, the author of "The Demian Syndrome". It's such a cool manga though the characters' names are really hard to remember, this being a Japanese fantasy ;P

I usually don't go for female characters on shows, mostly I kind of dislke them, but there are some that I simply adore even though they dropped in halfway through. One of the characters was Maggie Mackenzie on due South aka Benton Fraser's sister. That woman rocked my socks! I loved it that she was Fraser's sister. But then, I love Jessica Steen in all her roles because she always plays very strong, confident women - like Sheriff Kathleen from SPN's The Benders *points at her icon*

And since I'm already talking about due South - I love DS fanfiction, especially the way RayK is portrayed! My most favorite quote of his in fics? "That's not buddies!" It makes me laugh every time. Especially the way [livejournal.com profile] zabira says it in her podfics! *rotf*

Hey, GreatestJournal died. At least their main database. They are recommending their users to switch over to InsaneJournal. It's ironic, really, because I used GJ as a back-up for my fics. And now it's the back-up that died on me. Sheesh.

Fic rec! Supernatural...
GEN --> "Myths about Fish" by [livejournal.com profile] zionsstarfish. Dean's cursed and turned into a merman. Fluff pure!

Hurray, I just ordered "La Esperanca vol. 7" which means that I finished another manga series after dragging it out for months! *high-fives* The previous one that took me so long to finish was "Hands Off" but dude, was it worth or what? The super angst in the last volume made me all shivery with excitement!

And I finished my "Five Things Shawn Never Told His Father" Psych fic and shipped it off to my beta. In end, it's just 650 words but it's distilled angst, angst pure, dark material :D Writing is better than shrink XP

On the not so happy note, I went to Dante's Cove Official Site and watched the trailer for S3. Man, so many new characters? That means even less time for Toby and Kevin, right? *sigh* I hope that at least Ambrosius will still be as obsessed with Kevin as he was during the previous two seasons...

Title: Innocent Souls
Author: [livejournal.com profile] katikat
Fandom: Gorgeous Carat
Disclaimer: All standard disclaimers apply here.
Words: ~10.000
Warnings: Past NCS and drug abuse as found in the books. Attempted NCS.
Rating: Mature
Summary: Noir does everything he can to protect Floréan but Azura just won't give up...
Notes: This story was beta'ed by [livejournal.com profile] yami_tai. Thank you, sweetie, and I apologize for all the mistakes! *huggles*
Notes2: I still use the German version "Floréan" for the main hero because that's what I'm used to, having the books in German.
Notes3: I like dependent Floréan, the way he is portrayed in the manga. He isn't weak, what he went through in Azura's hands kind of broke him, as it was shown in the books.

I'm about to post the Gorgeous Carat fic "Innocent Souls" that I've finished after 2 years but since it's kind of a sequel, I decided to re-post the prequel here first.

I'm back from Germany. I practically haven't slept for two days now but at least I met the German fantasy author Bernhard Hennen there!

Oh, and I bought manga. Lotsa, lotsa manga...
Harukanaru Toki no Naka de 1-5
Tactics 2-7
Cantarella 10
Gestalt 2
... for 2 € a book! They had 60 % discount in that one little shop! *giddy*

And when I returned, I downloaded the new ep of Supernatural which was made of awesome although I missed more scenes with Dean and Sam. But it was still better than ep 3x01! :) I need to re-watch it once I'm truly awake and squee over the great moments! :)

Oh, and its ratings made me happy in my pants: 3.23 mil! We are up 260 000 viewers from the previous week. Which is way better than Reaper 2.65 mil., Gossip Girl 2.87 or Beauty and the Geek 3.16 mil. I hope we will keep the ratings!
katikat: (Default)
You know, folks, I usually don't go for the Xovers but here, I made an exception...

Xover --> Supernatural/Blood Ties, SLASH, Henry/Dean:
[livejournal.com profile] henchgirl's series...
"Eavesdropping"
"Things Henry Won't Do For Vicki Nelson"
"Henry's Kitchen"
"... And Dream of Sheep"
So, Dean meets Henry while Sam is away at Stanford and even though Dean is not gay, he starts and on-and-off relationship with Henry. Very light, non-angsty story. Can you imagine two such hot men together in bed 8)

I just finished writing my second RPF story... It's called "Feeling Blue" and it's Jared and Jensen talking in a bar. Angsty! I should be actually working on my Gorgeous Carat fic but sheesh, whatever :D

And it looks like my Psych story "Wrong, All Wrong" is pretty popular over on ff.net O.O okay, that I really didn't expect...

On the Amazon front, I ordered "La Esperanca 5" because I really need to catch up and finish at least one of the series that I'm buying. And some boy angsting and loving in a catholic school is always good for the soul :D
katikat: (Default)
Last night, I spent my time organizing - or trying to organize - my del.ico.us bookmarks. What a mess! And I have so many of them. I wonder if there is a limit for the amount of tags you may have. I know that Yahoo!Bookmarks' limit is 800. Del.ico.us? Who knows. But obviously, I'm determined to find out XP

And I ordered the manga "White Guardian". I mean, it's Duo Brand after all! But they still didn't publish the sequel - "Crimson Wind" - even though it should have come out in May :(

So, I have Ayano Yamane's "Crimson Spell 1" sitting next to my computer desk, Supernatural's "Nevermore" and Rob Knight's gay sleuth "Touching Evil" on their way to me and I'm reading "Moonshine" by Rob Thurman. All excellent stuff! Now to just find the time to actually read all that *sigh*
katikat: (Default)
Folks, I need your help... My Amazon wish list is full of great, amazing yaoi manga but now I'm looking for something different. So...

Is there someone on my flist who reads shoujo or non-yaoish manga? See, I would like to buy some but I have no idea what's good. I do buy "Fruits Basket", "Ouran High School Host Club" and "Bleach" but I would be interested in other manga that have very strong female characters. So no fainting heroine that need rescuing volume after volume, but girls that kick butt!

I would love to find a manga that would be the paper equivalent of the anime The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. Haruhi was weird, she was a nutjob but this anime had something that caught me the first time I watched it and it still didn't let go. Yes, there was romance between Haruhi and Kyon but it was tiny bits, the rest was all about Haruhi's crazy ideas. When she set her mind on something, she got it even if she had to use sexual harassment and blackmailing to get it. And only Kyon was able to contain some of her craziness. That was one amazing love story without it being a love story at all.

Can someone rec me something like that?
katikat: (Default)
I'm still staying away from any spoiler whatsoever. My fingers fairly itch to click on the "spoiler" links my flist keeps posting but I'm trying to stay strong and approach the new seasons, especially Supernatural, with an open mind. Though it's so hard...

What's up with all the "thank you" entries in the comments sections of various download sites? I thought that these should be used for alerting people of damaged files. With all the ridiculous thanking, it's hard to find out if there is actually anything wrong with the file.

I decided not to post any more fiction on my web site. I won't delete it but I think I will let it die a slow death. I know that some of the stories posted there haven't been posted anywhere else, but it feels much cozier (and more convenient) to post fics only here in my LJ.

My fingers itch to buy more manga. I'm so behind in the series that I buy that it's not even funny! So many good ones are coming out these days... *starry eyed*
katikat: (Default)
For once, I won't be talking about Supernatural :P

Dude, I just realized that the last volume of "La Esperanca" is out! Now I have to buy vols 4-7 to have the whole thing. It's so good and angsty and simply wow! I wanted to wait until the whole series is finished to buy the rest of the books *izhappy*

Also the 9th volume of "xxxHolic" will come out July 17th! And I still didn't get book 8 *groans*

And there are also the other series that I buy and that I've neglected lately like "Loveless", "Ouran High School Host Club", "Fruits Basket" or "Let Dai", not to mention "Bleach" (up to vol 19) - what would I do without you, Sharon? - and "GetBackers" (up to vol 18) that I wanted to start buying!

Wah, and "Innocent Bird 2" is out too! *tears hair* I will never save any money at all! *moans*

On another note, I'm reading "Blood Bound" by Patricia Briggs at the moment and this book is made of awesome. Even though there are vampires there :( As you probably already know, I'm a werewolf!girl and this book is all about weres and the pack hierarchy, dominance and submission and there is even an utterly cute gay couple there too (Briggs likes to sneak in gays :D). And what's perfect, it's not a frickin' romance book. It's no supernatural Harlequin. Sure, Mercy does have some love troubles with Adam, the local Alpha, and Samuel, the doctor and lone wolf, but it's not what this book is about and that makes me insanely happy. Mercedes Thompson is the sort of female hero that I adore and I hope that there'll be more to come in this series!

And this book also served as an inspiration for my Were!chester stories... Okay, so I've talked about Supernatural after all :D
katikat: (Default)
Today, I received the manga "Innocent Bird 1", "Loveless 1" and "Afterschool Nightmare 2+3"! Hurray! Together with the "Casino Lily" and "Gakuen Heaven" manga that I got from a friend *huggles*, I have lotsa stuff to read :)

I also pre-ordered Supernatural: Season 2 and The Dresden Files: Season 1 from Amazon.

I'm also thinking about getting Eureka: Season 1. This is one of those feel-good series that don't have much angst. It's a series about a bunch of lovable nutcases and especially the main hero - sheriff Carter - is quite cute :) And why am I considering buying this show when I already have it downloaded? Because this DVD set has amazing extras. All the eps have commentaries from Colin Ferguson, some even from other actors or producers. I mean, I know that there were only like 12 eps, but to have commentaries to all of them? 10 hours of bonus material! That's amazing :)
