Guardians of the Galaxy Casting

So, Marvel cast the lead in GotG:



Chris Pratt. Source. I haven't seen him in anything and he might be an excellent actor, I'm not bashing him or anything. It's just... I thought they would cast someone with more... gravitas, so to speak. Chris Pratt looks like a cuddly bear.

Another casting choice, this time for Drax the Destroyer:



The part was offered to Jason Momoa. He wasn't cast yet, his agents made a counter-offer, so... But from what's being said, Marvel was smitten with his performance. Source.

They lost me a bit with the lead but now they have my attention again. Please, do cast Jason Momoa! The man has such an amazing on-screen presence... *_*

Contemplating the Vampire Diaries

As you know, I stopped watching TVD at the end of S1 because the main love triangle - Damon-Elena-Stefan - PISSES ME OFF LIKE WHOA! There was only one character that could've drawn me back: Jeremy. I really, REALLY like his character. My favorite couple has always been Jeremy/Bonnie and I hoped that they would actually come back together again soon-ish. But the latest episode...

Well, if what happened there sticks, I guess I will not be going back. I mean, reading spoilers for S4, I really liked what they did with Jeremy, that he wasn't "just" Elena's brother anymore, that he actually had a purpose. But this, what happened last Thursday... And I can't find any spoilers that would tell me if it's just another ( spoilers! )

which happens on a pretty regular basis in the show or if it's permanent this time.

"Grimspace (Sirantha Jax #1)" by Ann Aguirre

A fast-paced sci-fi adventure. Exactly the kind I love!

I'm very picky when it comes to heroines - most of them get on my last nerve! - but Sirantha Jax was very likable and far from perfect and I loved her flippancy. There was only one instance where I didn't agree with her at all - about what she did on Gehenna. You just don't leave people who depend on you dangling.

My favorite part was Jax's relationship with March, that was wonderful. I'm curious if March's Psi-abilities will be explored in future books. I mean, he mentioned that they were the reason why he stopped flying and now that he's back to being a full-time pilot...

And now I really need an AU fic where Charlie's Dean's best friend and they geek out and watch porn and pick up girls together. They are kind of awesome friends in the show itself :)
