Contemplating the Vampire Diaries

katikatAs you know, I stopped watching TVD at the end of S1 because the main love triangle - Damon-Elena-Stefan - PISSES ME OFF LIKE WHOA! There was only one character that could've drawn me back: Jeremy. I really, REALLY like his character. My favorite couple has always been Jeremy/Bonnie and I hoped that they would actually come back together again soon-ish. But the latest episode...
Well, if what happened there sticks, I guess I will not be going back. I mean, reading spoilers for S4, I really liked what they did with Jeremy, that he wasn't "just" Elena's brother anymore, that he actually had a purpose. But this, what happened last Thursday... And I can't find any spoilers that would tell me if it's just another "Jeremy is dead" thing which happens on a pretty regular basis in the show or if it's permanent this time.
