katikatThe episode about LARPing lacked tension, suspense and mystery, but I really liked it because of the wonderful scenes that Dean had with Charlie, like when she asked him if he also had to leave someone. They got along fabulously. If there were no monsters, I could see these two being best friends, a lesbian and a bi-curious straight guy*.
I really like Dean when he's with Charlie. I like that he doesn't try to "change her mind" about being a lesbian, that he doesn't try to "cure her" of being attracted to girls. He's totally cool with it AND he has someone he can just chill out and ogle girls with. It's lovely.
* I mean, seriously, all the meaningful relationships Dean has ever had in his life were with men and always in juxtaposition to Sam's relationships with women. Dean left Lisa - but who does he mourn and pine for? Benny and Castiel.
I also like the idea of the Campbells being the brawn and the Winchesters the brain. Kinda unexpected considering Mary has always been presented as the smart cookie and John as the jarhead. And I hope we get to learn more about the Men of Letters.
And now I really need an AU fic where Charlie's Dean's best friend and they geek out and watch porn and pick up girls together. They are kind of awesome friends in the show itself :)
