I started reading "Fool Moon" by Jim Butcher, book #2 in the Harry Dresden series, and it reminded me that I should re-watch The Dresden Files, a show that I really liked and that I own on DVD.

For me, Paul Blackthorne will forever be Harry Dresden...

Sure, he doesn't look EXACTLY like the Harry Dresden in the book, he isn't as skinny or as tall, but he embodied the spirit of Harry so well!

On the other hand Valerie Cruz? No, just no...

How did SHE get the part of Karrin Murphy is beyond me. Murphy is a 5 foot nothing blond spitfire, a regular whirlwind of energy and attitude in the book. Cruz looked like she might burst out in tears at any moment and if she had moved and talked any slower, I would have needed to ffwd the ep just to see her get to the point. A terrible, awful choice!

Who did I picture as Murphy? Someone like Glynis Barber...

That's her as Harriet Makepeace in the 80s UK action series Dempsey & Makepeace. Man, Makepeace had style, she kicked ass and could out-brass-ball any man, Dempsey included! THAT's what Murphy should've looked like and been like!

Which reminds me, I should really re-watch Dempsey & Makepeace. The actors, Michael Brandon and Glynis Barber, had amazing chemistry, no wonder they married and are still together. What a gorgeous couple!

... and I'm already running around like a headless chicken! Some days just don't start right *huffs*

And what the heck is wrong with [livejournal.com profile] spnstoryfinders? I have sent them my request like yesterday and still no response at all - no rejection nor approval. I kinda don't get why fic-finding comms are moderated :( When I post a request, I would like to read the story as soon as possible - now would be best :( I mean, I remember that when they switched back to moderated status, I offered to be a moderator because, dude, I'm at the comp like 24-7 since I'm working from home. But nobody responded to my offer :( Too bad...

ETA: You can already pre-order the 2nd season of Supernatural on Amazon! Huzzah! $ 41.99, 30 % discount. Hm, Heroes have 35 % discount but whatever *huffs* Supernatural is 65th in DVDs on Amazon! Yay :)

And it's possible to pre-order The Dresden Files DVDs too! Only $ 27.99! Huzzah.

Suddenly, I feel much better :D

I've read some reviews of the new Dresden Files series. Many of them weren't really positive. I must say, that I like the series. I've read two and a half books in the Dresden Files series and to be honest, I didn't like it that much. I don't know why, there was just something off about the stories that didn't make me all that interested in the character of the main hero - and that's always bad. But in the TV series, I like Harry. He is still no Superman, just a normal guy who does magic. And I love Bob. The horny ghost in the skull from the books wasn't bad but his horniness was rather overdone. Here, he is still rather uptight, but he really cares about Harry (or at least it looks like he cares). And therefore, there is a good potential for some good h/c stuff. Though I think that Murphy could have been more spitfire-ish. But it's still good and I'm looking forward to another ep!

It's snowing outside! *shudders* I had to shovel the snow from the sidewalk in front of our house. Not really a funny thing to do *sighs* I hope that comes morning, there won't be a meter high snowdrift behind the house. Snow and wind really don't mix well.

You know who writes the best Wee!chesters gen stories in the SPN fandom? [livejournal.com profile] dodger_winslow who loves John Winchester and little Dean and Sam. Her stories are usually rather long and well plotted. She also writes a lot of John-centric stories that are set even before the boys were born. Someone here obviously likes Jeffrey Dean Morgan a lot! ;P

Oh, and I watched NCIS eps 222 and 223 yesterday again. Boy, the team-love is so strong in these eps. I especially love how Gibbs is hovering about Tony - well, hovering in Gibbs!terms that is. I love his "Tony, sit down before you fall down" or "Tony, lay down before you pass out" or "Tony, eat something!" So much love...
