I finished watching Jyu Oh Sei... and I cried like a baby, really. This was a very good anime, but it left me with this deep sad feeling in the chest. SPOILERS ) So, even if that was one of the best anime this season, I don't think I will re-watch it any time soon since I don't like to wallow in depression.

And if that wasn't enough, I then watched the "The Wind That Blows at Home" arc in the Full Metal Panic anime. And my mood became even bleaker. This anime is usually very funny and stuff, but this arc... SPOILERS ) So, yeah...

This really wasn't a happy evening on the anime front :(

Today, we had a little get-together with some family members I haven't seen in years even though we live in the same town. Lets just say that now I understand why we don't meet very often. If I'm lucky enough, I won't have to see them for another two or three years X(

On a different note: I can't believe that there is only one episode of Jyu Oh Sei left! On the other hand, I don't like the twist the whole series took in the latest episode. I mean, I know that it was the point towards which the anime was headed but still :( This was not my cup of tea...

But the latest episode of Princess Princess was incredibly funny. I like this anime better than Gakuen Heaven; I think that Keita is too weak for a main character and the whole MVP is ridiculous :(

Jyu Oh Sei

Wow! That's the only word good enough to describe the Jyu Oh Sei anime. There is everything there: action, likable characters, interesting plot-line, intrigue... and the music! I completely adore the OP song; I will have to download it from somewhere :)

And you know what I like best about this series? That it's not your usual boy loves girl storyline. There is unrequited love and unexpected pairings. And because the anime is so short - only 11 episodes - the plot moves forward very quickly. Actually, I feel sorry that there are only so few eps. This one would deserve at least 26!

But there is one thing that I'm really curious about: if Rai will appear or not. I mean, what happened to him was rather abrupt and left me feeling unsatisfied, as if the storyline was not finished. Do you feel the same or am I alone in that? :/

Today really wasn't my day... I was writing a paper about the multi-cultural world of today. In the German language... and I screwed up some spelling (the new German spelling is a real bitch) and forgot to add up the word count from all the sites. And if that wouldn't be enough, my handwriting sucks which makes me worry if they will be even able to read it, and I'm still not sure, if the paper was long enough (even though the papers of my friends were shorter than mine)... Did I mention that my brain consists of a hamster running in a wheel and running and running and running which causes me to worry endlessly about things. Yeah, paint me obsessive-compulsive. And the fact that I have my second state exam this Wednesday (it's History this time) doesn't really help me relieve the stress. If I have to learn one more Marxian historian I will scream *bites fingernails*

Oh, and I set our VCR wrong so it didn't record my mother's favorite show. Yeah :/

But at least I caught up on Bones and Jyu Oh Sei in the evening. JOS is oh so cool! I especially love Third and Chen. Third is such a manipulative bastard!

And I finished reading Jim Butcher's "Storm Front" (which is really good and I can't wait to order other books in the "Dresden Files" series) and started reading Mark Anthony's "The Keep of Fire" (the 2nd book in his "Last Rune" series). In this book, I like the action set in our world a bit better than the fantasy setting. The Earth-based action feels much more suspensive with the Seekers and Duratek etc. But maybe it's just the leftovers of Harry Dresden and Ukiah Oregon in my mind speaking for me. Let me say just one word: Beltan! I think that the ones who've read this book know who I'm talking about :D

Anime rush

Jigoku Shoujo: Creeeeeeeeeeeeepy! And sad at the same time. The poor young people who turn to Jigoku Shoujo for help are completely desperate and still need to pay for the revenge she takes on their behalf with their souls. The first girl was quite content with it, but the other... I don't think I would ever do it. I'm too much of a coward. I would rather suffer in this life than after death forever in hell. But still, this series is a keeper.

Noein: Cool, really cool. I don't like the anime style much - it reminds me too much of Beck - but the story and the special effects are truly intriguing. And besides, I love stories with a tortured main male character. And the question at the very end "Anata ga dare?" reminded me a lot of Soukyuu no Fafner where every episode ended with the question "Anata wa koko ni imasu ka" and it was said in the same, sad girly voice. Creepy. Another keeper!

Detective Academy Q: Squee! Shinsen picked it up! Three episodes in a month - compared to previous 1 ep every six to seven months, I feel like in heaven. And the plot thickens. I wonder, who Kyuu actually is. So exciting. This series reminds me a lot of Detective Conan but the story is better. More... mature I would say with the whole secret society and someone who wants to kill our heroes... yay. Can't wait for more.

Oh, and talking about DAQ - I made a new icon. The situation in this pic *points* is completely innocent but cut out of the context... Hm, what do you think? *g*
