Or Men Who Hate Women because I own the Swedish version with Noomi Rapace and Michael Nyqvist, not the US version with Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara.

I have got just the first film on DVD and to be perfectly honest, I don't think I will be buying the next two. This one was enough for me. It was raw and ugly and dark, and though I can usually handle dark movies, this one was simply too much even for me. All the rapes... It's just something I don't handle well. Also, the graphic way in which the assaults were portrayed, it wasn't necessary for the storytelling. I give it points for not trying to prettify the crime, for showing what it really is like, but... it felt almost fetishistic, violence for violence's sake. And that's not something I handle well.

I liked Kalle's side of the story, the search for the missing girl's murderer. But not Lisbeth's. I mean, the rawness of her story explained a lot about her, about her character, about her reactions, about her attitude but...

The ending was perfect, in my opinion. And it's also the reason why I don't feel the need to watch movies number 2 and 3. An interesting movie, sure, but I really don't get the brouhaha.

So, Tom Hardy and Noomi Rapace are about to start filming the movie Animal Rescue together, right? And now they are in talks to star in another film together, Child 44, a Soviet-era thriller...

Daniel Espinosa is directing the thriller, which is set during the 1950s and follows a member of the Soviet police who, while investigating a series of child murders, finds himself the target of his own government’s suspicions.

Hardy would play the Soviet officer, while Rapace would play his wife, who pretends to be a doting partner but is concealing many thoughts and feelings.

Richard Price wrote the script adapting the Tom Rob Smith novel.

They must get along fabulously if they are so eager to be in another movie together so soon. I think it's awesome. I can't wait to see what they do with these parts.

► Colin Morgan will appear in the 3rd episode of Gabriel Byrne's new TV series Quirke: source. Too bad he will be only guest-staring. I wish he joined something as a regular :(

Hansel & Gretel premiered in Russia last weekend, ahead of the rest of the world, the US included, and it got off on a very strong start with a $7 mil. weekend, beating even Django Unchained that also premiered there at the same time. Interesting.

► It's unlikely that Jack Reacher will have a sequel. It needed to reach $250 mil. worldwide to guarantee one and that didn't happen, so far it's earned $155 mil. Source.

► Noomi Rapace is now confirmed to star in Animal Rescue with Tom Hardy: source.

Tom Hardy's attached to a movie called Animal Rescue - and now Noomi Rapace was offered the female lead! How awesome is that? These two seem to have so much fun together, it's sweet! I hope she takes the part, that would be awesome!

As Deadline.com says, Tom will play "a man who wants to shed his criminal path but somehow gets mixed up in a bad heist and a killing resulting from a lost and contested pit bull." He seems very excited about this film and about working with the director, Michael R. Roskam. Interesting...

Now that I've seen both movies so close together, I have to say I like SH:AGOS better than SH, the second one better than the first one. It just feels like they managed to stick so much more into the movie. Also, I think it was better because it barely featured Rachel McAdams' Irene Adler. I liked Noomi Rapace's Madam Simsa much better, she felt more down-to-earth, Irene just rubbed me the wrong way.

You know what struck me the most while watching the movie? Holmes' loneliness. He had only one friend, Watson, who started living his own life that was completely independent from Holmes'. And because of that, Holmes didn't have anybody to talk to. And even later on, when they traveled together to Paris, Holmes felt the distance, he didn't even tell Watson that Irene was dead. And Irene - in her he lost the one woman he could've loved. By the end of the movie, you realized the fall had been pretty much inevitable. To save everybody, all Holmes had to do was take himself out of the picture. There was no other way to defeat Moriarty but to sacrifice himself.

The fall itself was heartbreaking. When he looked at Watson then closed his eyes to make sure Watson was the last thing he would see, should he die. And the slo-mo, the piano music, Watson's expression... My heart was breaking into itty-bitty pieces.

Regarding slo-mo - the scene in the woods, them and the gypsies fleeing from the soldiers, that was a breathtaking piece of cinematography. Slo-mo, fast-forward, steady-cam and not... What an imagination. I am floored every time I see it.

And the whole thing still feels like a Holmes/Watson romance, like a fanfic come to life. Amazing that they actually managed to get it made :D

Once more I have to ask, what people didn't get about the film. Reviewers insist that the movie is confusing, that it doesn't give you any answers, that it just opens many questions etc. and so on. I... don't get what people don't get? To me, the movie felt quite straightforward and easy to follow *head-tilt*

Overall, I liked it. Not as exciting as Aliens, but much better than Alien 3 & 4 - let's not even talk about those messes *cringes* What really made the movie for me was the character of David, played by Michael Fassbender. He was simply incredible. Hands down the best performance in the whole movie. I wasn't sure if he was or wasn't a bad guy, even at the very end. Strange.

Another thing I adored was the core crew of the Prometheus: Cpt. Janek, Chance and Ravel. They were really, really awesome. I admired their courage and their easy camaraderie. And was I the only one who felt slashy vibes between Chance and Ravel? I loved their banter and the smile they gave each other before the crash. In my head canon, they were an item *nods*

The special effects were all kinds of amazing. Wow, just wow! The ships, the star map that David entered... Wonderful! The movie is worth seeing just because of that.

Two things I didn't like: the score and Guy Pierce as Weyland. The music was really bland. Maybe because I usually listen to Last.fm's OST channel and I keep hearing Hans Zimmer's (Pirates of the Carribean, The Dark Knight Rises) and Hugh Jackman's (X-Men: First Class) amazing scores, this one felt so very, very bland in comparison. And what was the use of Guy Pierce as Weyland? Couldn't they simply gotten an old guy to play him? :-/

The ending was interesting - the bit with David and Elizabeth, not the weird alien thing - and I'm curious where Scott will take the story next.
