Hannibal 103
Apr. 19th, 2013 08:57 pmFirst thing first: NBC pulled next week's episode of Hannibal because of the Boston bombing. The episode is apparently too grisly, not because of any relation to Boston or bombing or terrorism. Source.
Oh, for Christ's sake! Why not drop the whole show? This is a series about serial killers! Some of them eat their victims! Some of them impale them! This show IS GRISLY AND VIOLENT, which is the FUCKING POINT! People who are sensitive to on-screen violence shouldn't be watching it in the first place. And now, Bryan Fuller, the show's fucking creator, expresses concern about the content? So, before Monday ( spoilers for the plot! ) seemed a good idea to Fuller and now it's not? Why make a show about serial killers in the first place, then?
Yes, I'm angry. Not because of the ep, our AXN will carry it as planned. But the show is already struggling in the ratings - 1.6 --> 1.7 --> 1.4 - and this will not help! I would understand it if said episode was in any way even remotely related to what happened in Boston or Texas, that would be sensitive. But this? I don't get you, America*. I really, really don't.
ETA: * To explain: I don't get this attitude - rescheduling, I mean - because it simply doesn't happen here. When our TV reschedules stuff, it's "to show" something, not to "not to show" something. Like they decide to air a movie staring an actor who just passed away or to air news or stuff like that. In my country, every viewer is responsible for their own mental well-being. Nobody is holding anybody hostage in front of the TV. If the audience finds something disturbing, despite the "Viewer's discretion is advised" warning, there's the OFF button. So yeah, I just don't get it.
But now to the episode itself...

( Can you catch someone else's crazy? )

Nick Fury, Marvel movies
This list wouldn't be complete without Nick Furry. What a cunning, sneaky, lying bastard. And a good, loyal friend. He would die for his people, he would tear anybody a knew one if it helped him protect his agents. He's not afraid of going toe to toe with the higher uppers and he knows how to do it without losing their respect and their trust. Awesome!
And thus, this meme is finished!
