You're my only hope - and all that ;P

Could someone please tell me how do I get rid of these boxes with numbers that I circled - squared? - in the picture below? It's a screencap of a post on my flist.

In Mozilla, they show like that. In IE, it's just empty boxes. I don't know what they should represent, if I'm missing some plug-in or something, but they are QUITE annoying - and ugly.

Also, how do I get Japanese/Chinese/Korean signs to appear in Mozilla? I can't find the correct plug-in...

ETA: I'll try to install the "East Asian Language Support" on my 'puter because using Unicode UTF-8 didn't work... *sigh*

I've started reading Doyle's "A Study in Scarlet" - I had it up there with urban fantasy books, I really had to take a step back and read something else, and I have planned to read it for a long while now. And, you know, reading it, I can literally see Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman as Holmes and Watson, they were cast perfectly!

So, I wanted to ask - when you read stories about Holmes, and I mean books by Doyle or his followers, what do you imagine Holmes and Watson like? I mean their appearance. Do you imagine them as the actors from Sherlock (UK) or Sherlock Holmes (2009)? Or from some other movie/series? Or do you imagine them looking completely different?

Day 20 - Favorite kiss:

And once again, I'm back to Steve Kluger's "Almost Like Being in Love" - one kiss, two POVs...

Craig's...

Say no to drugs. They'll ruin you. And I'm the proof: one toke and his eyes got bluer, two tokes and I'd have killed for his smile, three tokes and I couldn't remember a time we didn't know each other, four tokes and I would have woken up Brigadoon for him. My life is over.

And Travis'...

It was right out of The Sound of Music. Rolf and Liesl in the rain. We even had a gazebo.
These are the facts: (1) I haven't eaten in fourteen hours but I'm not hungry; (2) I can't sleep because my bed's turned into the loneliest place in the world; (3) I have bruises all over my body from bumping into three doors and a carpet-cleaner; and (4) I can't remember what "fluctuate" means. Do people really survive this?

They're so cute it hurts!

Etc. )

This show makes me seriously happy. It's like a piece of chocolate - SO GOOD!

And it's not the episodic plots, it's the characters. Like, in this week's ep - Doppelganger - I felt so sorry for the head-trauma!guy. They make you like even the guest stars! And for once, I'm all for the het pairing, shipping Jim and Callie so hard!

But the best part? When Jim and Carlos bicker!

Jim: She knows when she's being played.
Carlos: Not quite when she's still hanging out with you.
Jim: *pauses* You know, I was gonna ask you to join me to do some super sleuthing...
Carlos: Uh-huh?
Jim: You've hurt my feelings! *walks away, affronted*
Carlos: Pft *laughs - then pauses* Where're you going?! Yo, Mr. Sensitive!
