I finished watching Jyu Oh Sei... and I cried like a baby, really. This was a very good anime, but it left me with this deep sad feeling in the chest. In the end, nobody lived to be truly happy. Thor's parents, his brother were dead. Third dead. Tiz dead. Zagi dead... And why? Because one man decided to play God. The last scene was so incredibly, incredibly sad. Although they were smiling, it was full of pain. I don't think that anyone who went through what they did could ever be really happy anymore. They've just lost too much... So, even if that was one of the best anime this season, I don't think I will re-watch it any time soon since I don't like to wallow in depression.

And if that wasn't enough, I then watched the "The Wind That Blows at Home" arc in the Full Metal Panic anime. And my mood became even bleaker. This anime is usually very funny and stuff, but this arc... The fact that nobody from Sousuke's unit survived really got me. When Gauron killed them, one after the other... And then Zaied... The scene where Sousuke is leaving the battle field alone in his AS, dragging the nuclear bomb that he did manage to recover after all, was probably one of the saddest scenes in this anime. So, yeah...

This really wasn't a happy evening on the anime front :(

You get my first comment with my new LJ name. ^_^

I cried at the end of Jyu Oh Sei, too. I had no idea what was coming, so it all surprised me a lot. I give them lots of credit for not going with the totally happy ending.

I think there was hope at the end of the anime, but it's something that's in the distant future. The people there are going to have a hard time making that world a good place to live, but at least humanity lives on. I like to think Chen and Third's guy (I can never remember his name) will get together. I think Thor will never replace Tiz, even if he does father children. He'll make things work, if only to honor the people who have died.

I'll miss Zagi...

What really got me were the deaths of Third, Tiz and Zagi. They were completely unnecessary in my opinion. Especially Third's. I know that he wanted to go to Earth more than anything but still... And what miffs me is the fact that we don't actually know if Zagi is dead or not. I mean, Thor got out of such a chasm in the ground too. I think this could be a good starting point for fanfics :)

And thank you so much for the Princess Princess D ep! I really have to watch that one :D

I thought the three deaths were part of what made the story so good. In any other anime, they'd all have survived, and everyone would live happily ever after. Life isn't like that. The deaths showed just how cruel fate can be sometimes. Also, it's based on a manga, and it followed it very well, so I've been told.

Unfortunately, Zagi is dead. I saw a comment from someone who read the manga. It makes me sad, because he was my favorite character.

Princess Princess is so cute. ^______^
