... I used the Amazon gift certificate that I got from [livejournal.com profile] yami_tai - love ya, girl! - and bought...

JGL's movies: The Lookout and Uncertainty
Tom Hardy's: Rocknrolla and This Means War
James McAvoy's: State of Play

I also decided to delegate Grimm to DVD and not watch it "live". I still haven't finished S1 and S2 is well on its way and I just can't raise any interest for it in me. I like the show, I really do, it was the only new series that I picked up last season, but... I don't know. I would rather watch movies or listen to podfics.

Pros:

* An animated trailer for Looper! Awesome!

* An interview with Rian Johnson, the director of Looper: link. My favorite part?

What does it feel like to hug JGL?

Johnson: It’s like hugging a rainbow made out of sincere kittens.

LOL!

* James McAvoy's Welcome to the Punch finally got a release date, March 2013: link. I don't even hope to see it in the cinema here, I mean, as if, but I want to at least get my hands on the DVD!

Cons:

* The reboot/remake of The Mummy? Will be "darker and scarier" and directed by Len Wiseman: link. Len Wiseman, you know, the guy who directed the Total Recall movie, which was good but could've been so much better with, you know, a BETTER DIRECTOR? And darker and scarier? The Mummy worked because it was cheesy and campy and so much fun! *sigh*

* It looks like Tom Hardy will play the main character in Everest: link. Shucks. Another movie where his character bites it. I mean, I get that it's a great acting challenge and more power to him but... Yet another movie of his that won't be for me *sigh*

White Collar was renewed for a 16 ep long S5! Woohoo! Also renewed: Covert Affairs and Royal Pains.

So, the Jack Hunter mini-series is basically the poor man's Indiana Jones. The budget is cheap, the writing not that good and the acting not really Oscar material, yet there's a worse way how to spend 90 min. of your time. It's actually fun in a campy, cheesy way.

The series introduces us to...

Jack Hunter, a treasure hunter, played by Ivan Sergei (Once a Thief) and...

Nadia Ramadan from the Syrian culture ministry, played by Joanne Kelly (Warehouse 13).

And these two try to find the lost treasure of Ugarit, as the title says. It's your average run of the mill adventure and Jack and Nadia are set up as a couple from the get-go but, IMHO, Jack has a much better chemistry - and a past too! - with the bad guy...

Albert Littmann, played by Thure Riefenstein.

When Jack was still an impressionable young man, fresh out of school, Littmann took him in and they went on adventures together until Littmann started to get really rough and dangerous, that's when Jack left. But even now, years later and with them being on the opposite sites, Littmann still calls Jack his friend. The vibes, oh, the VIBES! I LIKED it!

And then the twist at the very end, the reveal of who had been actually following Jack! THAT's when it got really interesting and actually good! I didn't expect that bit at all. And I'm now actually looking forward to the follow-up, Jack Hunter and the Quest for Akhenaten's Tomb.

"The Bare Necessities" by osaki_nana_707, read by kansouame | Arthur/Eames | Eames accidentally finds out that Arthur sleeps in the nude. | 20min.

"Why are you naked exactly?" Eames asked as Arthur got to his feet to just go find some clothes to wear, but there wasn't really any way he could get around Eames to his suitcase and cover both his arse and his front bits.

"I sleep naked," Arthur grumbled, suddenly stuck, clutching the pillow in front of him with both hands.

Poor, poor Arthur. LOL! X)
