Ehm...

I'm not a fan of Michael Fassbender's artsy stuff - I'm more of a Prometheus and Haywire kinda girl - but when I saw the trailer for A Dangerous Method in the theater or the promo poster...

... Or when our TV news used bits and piece from Shame in a report about sex addiction I went all: "It's Michael Fassbender! He played Erik in XMFC! And he was lovely! *starry-eyed*" Much to the amusement of both my friends and my mom. They pretty much go all "LOL! You're so funny!" whenever I gush about my favorite actors.

Shopping!

Went shopping and bought Wimbledon (with James McAvoy!) for 3 bucks, Iron Man 2 for 5 bucks and the whole Steve Carella film trilogy with Dale Midkiff for 10 bucks! And Richard Castle's Naked Heat. All in Czech! *bounces*

But! The most awesome find?

Rudolf Čechura's anthology Dr. Sherlock Holmes v Čechách a jiné případy (Dr. Sherlock Holmes in Bohemia and other cases). How awesome is that? Holmes stories written by a Czech author. Lovely! *_*

Yesterday, reading Doyle's His Last Bow, I came across the short story The Bruce-Partington Plans - yes, it's the short story on which the subplot of Sherlock's episode The Great Game was based. But! What really got me was this part:

[Holmes] sprang up and shook me by the hand.

"I knew you would not shrink at the last," said he, and for a moment I saw something in his eyes which was nearer to tenderness than I had ever seen. The next instant he was his masterful, practical self once more.

Told from Watson's POV, of course. I wonder if Doyle wrote these stories with the idea of Holmes being in love with Watson after all - hey, Doyle was the one who never abandoned Oscar Wilde, even after Wilde was arrested! - but that was as far as he dared to go in expressing it...

Fast Five

Watched Fast Five with the audio commentary by Justin Lin. I really hope he will be back as the director for FF6. He loves this franchise, the characters, the actors, the crew... everything. You can hear it in his voice when he talks about them (it's like with Matthew Vaughn and XMFC). He had so many great things to say about all of them.

What I remember from the commentary... )

Man, I love this movie so much. Yeah, the slash is gone but I don't mind. Mia became totally awesome here and they are all a family now and it's fantastic. And the music! The "action" song, That's How We Roll, kicks major ass. Rap isn't really my cuppa but it fits the movie perfectly. Even when the credits roll, the song keeps your blood pumping. I also loved the character sketches at the end, all the characters throughout the five movies. Awesome.

Can't wait for FF6 next year!
