Dune 1.0

As I mentioned a few days ago, my new-found obsession with James McAvoy lead me to Children of Dune. But to get to this part...



... I need to watch Dune first - which I have in 2 parts instead of 3, don't ask me how or why *hands* - because I'm anal-retentive and when I do something, I do it for realz!

You know, I now remember why I was so in love with this mini-series. Paul Atreides is rocking awesome. I mean, at the beginning, he's a spoiled brat, but he matures so much during the movies. And I just love, love, LOVE movies/series/books where an exceptional man becomes the leader of the... whatever - see my obsession with Star Trek: Reboot.

Sure, the special effects are very... TV, but I don't mind that. I like the atmosphere they created for this mini-series. And it's also great to see so many Czech actors, ha!

Still, I can't wait for Leto and Ghani! Man, finally a het pairing I fall head over heels for - and it's a brother and a sister. But seriously, if those two had only brotherly/sisterly feelings for each other, I'll eat my hat. Witch ketchup!

Perhaps it’s a genetic flaw. Mutant and proud, Charles would say. His voice is clear in Erik’s memory, even though it’s been weeks. He hasn’t taken the helmet off any longer than purely necessary; first because he didn’t want Charles in his mind, but now he’s reluctant because it’s been so long. He doesn’t want to hear Charles in his head, he doesn’t want to let his resolve waver.

Oi, fics that adhere to canon hurts, you know? Seriously, I want to send these two to a marriage counselor and order them to TALK IT OUT, for Christ's sake, because if there ever were two people destined to be together, it's them *head/desk*

Much better than 301. Much funnier, a smart storyline, great Elizabeth scenes and no Sara - see? The show really doesn't need her, at all!

I went to see it again!

So, I went to see XMFC again. And dragged my mom along, kicking and screaming. Man, it was even better the second time around. There were so many people in the theater, I was really shocked - I don't get why they're cutting down the airing times here starting tomorrow, airing it only once a day at 8.30 pm.

Well, I sat next to some giggly female fans this time - and they were so, so James McAvoy's or slash fans! You should've heard them gasp and squee and bounce. The scene on the beach? The shooting? They actually went all *gasp-O.O-hands-to-mouth* It was pretty funny :P

Charles and Erik... Their relationship gets better and better every time I see the movie - and more and more tragic. I also really loved the brother-sister relationship between Charles and Raven, even though he completely misunderstood her issues.

I just don't get why Charles and Erik couldn't have stayed together - this is not a spoiler, if you know anything at all about X-Men, you must know who Professor X and Magneto are - because they were perfect together. The way they worked together, trusted each other, balanced each other out! Polar opposites and both extreme, they needed each other! ;_;

I'm off to read more XMFC fics. Man, it's so GOOD!
