Friending meme and a fic rec

Okay, is it just me or is the friending meme over at obsessions_r_us very anti-slash oriented? Nobody who just mentions liking slash (God forbid Wincest) is friended or even taken notice of. And a lot of people make point of stating how they don't like Wincest (or slash in that matter). I say, hey, whatever floats their boat, really, but even though I don't read many het stories, I can't say that I dislike them in general. I mean, there are some really great Dean/Ellen fics out there after all and in the spnstoryfinders, I especially asked for stories with/about Andrea or Sarah or Kathleen, because these girls? They rocked!

And the fic rec? Well, you know my opinion of RPS stories, right? I have nothing against them but most of them make me really uncomfortable. But last night, I just couldn't resist any longer and had to read "The Jared Padalecki Untitled Project" by esohpe. It's being rec'ed all over the comms etc. as one of the best RPS stories out there so I told myself "what the heck!" and gave it a try... Lets just say that I didn't turn in until 3 AM because I just had to finish reading it. This is made of awesome! A very long, very detailed story about what JA and JP's lives could be like if they had a fall-out that ended with one of them pulling out of Supernatural. Very, very angsty :)

Charmed fic rec and Diana Krall's music

I finally found a good Charmed ficlet. And on LJ too! It's called "Paradox" and it's written by kimera. In this short story, it's Chris' wedding day. He is marrying Bianca and Wyatt is his best man - and his best friend too. But Chris has been plagued by nightmares his whole life. In his dreams, Wyatt is evil, Bianca is evil and his whole family is dead. And then Wyatt comes to Chris with a photo of the two of them from the year 2004 - of a little Wyatt and a grown-up Chris. Too bad that the author didn't expand the story more because the ending seems rather abrupt but it's a very good ficlet :)

I'm totally in love with the jazz singer Diana Krall. Her piano, her smooth voice... It's the perfect music for when you need to calm down, when you want to just chill and think about nothing at all. An amazing singer and in my opinion, she ranks up there with Vienna Teng, Corinne May and Katie Melua :)
