Is there a site that would list manga, their authors and how many volumes each series has, if it's ongoing or finished? I tried Animenewsnetwork.com, which is great for anime, but when it comes to manga and the stuff I listed above, it's terribly confusing...

I mean, I found out that vol. 28, is the last part of "Tsubasa Chronicle". But how many volumes does "xxxHolic" have? 16? Is Clamp still determined to finish "X/1999"? And what about their new project? As much as I love "Card Captor Sakura", "Kobato" doesn't really appeal to me, based on the summary alone.

Hm, there might be other sites out there -manga research is not my forte XD- but you can try http://mangaupdates.com. That's the place I go to for all the manga info I need.

These entries should answer a few of your questions:
http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=342 X 1999
http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=341 xxxholic

Here's one to read xxxHolic online: http://manga.animea.net/xxxholic.html

It's up to 17 and not sure if that's the last volume but I think it's close to being ended if not already ended.

As for X/1999, every fan wants to know when it will be continued lol. Having the cast show up in Tsubasa was fun but just not the same as getting an actual ending. And I'd also like to see them continue Lawful Drug.

Thank you! I'm buying xxxHolic from Amazon DE - just read vol. 15. Man, I love the manga so much!

I can't understand why they didn't finish X/1999. From what I understand, there are 19 vols out in Japan and only 2 would remain if they wanted to do the 21 tarot deck card number as they said, right?

But I think it's like with Yami no Matsuei... :(

At least CLAMP is still doing manga, unlike the Yami no Matsuei mangaka, who's apparently dropped off the face of the earth.
