"Not a Big Deal (™) & Wherefore Art Thou Cantankerous Bastard" by shecrows, read by firejuggler | Kirk/Bones | That One Time Everyone on the Enterprise Thought Jim and Bones Were Fucking, or even Damn It, Jim, I'm a Doctor, Not a Decoy. | 1hr. 17min.

Jim Kirk just happens to have this genetic abnormality where if he decides he likes your face, he thinks it entitles him to stick to you like an annoying, hands-y parasite until he’s something that you’re used to.

Wonderful! Firejuggler has such an amazing voice. And there really isn't enough Kirk/Bones podfics out there which is a blasphemy considering how many amazing Kirk/Bones fics popped up after the Reboot!

"In Truth" by mint_amaretto, read by reena_jenkins | Kirk/McCoy | AU | It takes Kirk some time to notice that Bones is a little too good to be true. | 25min.

"You ever get the feeling something's wrong?" Jim asks Spock the next time they're catching up on Jim's paperwork, alone in his quarters. He can't quite bring himself to tack "with Bones" at the end of the question - Spock might think he's asking for relationship advice or something equally horrifying.

"I'm afraid I'm not aware of your meaning, Captain. If you would elaborate," Spock answers, not even looking up from the requisition form on his datapad. As always, he's making Jim work for it.

Wonderful. Quite dark yet beautifully written and read. Loved Kirk's horror and Pike's impassive attitude. Creepy.

"Graduate Vulcan for Fun and Profit" by lazulisong, read by templemarker | Gen | It really does take a village to raise a Jim. | 1hr. 27mins.

Pre-Reformation Vulcan has words for familial relationships that Jim isn't really sure exist outside it, and they all boil down to 'us' and 'them'. There were shades of meaning, of course -- 'one of us married to one of them as a hostage, so technically they are one of them but we can't actually bomb the shit out of them because they have someone who's one of us with them -- at least until the one of us with them succeeds in poisoning their food supply, because we don't poison water supplies and regard it like most humans regard having a nice barbeque with Mom .... as the main dish', or 'one of them who is one of us because the enemy of my enemy etc etc etc' -- but it all described a society deeply suspicious of each other. Jim's never actually come across a word to succinctly describe 'your step-aunt's mother's other husband but one's stepsister's cousin's half-siblings' in any language but pre-Reformation Vulcan and Bones' peculiar old-South Anglish dialect. Even then, Bones just called them 'shirt-tail relatives -- I dunno, ask Mama how we know 'em, she knows' -- which is very Vulcan of Bones, come to think of it.

This is seriously one of my most favorite ST:Reboot fics. Like EVER! I laughed and I was in tears because it's so awesome and so hilariously funny and so touching and so sad at the same time and overall it's OMG AMAZING! Especially in podfic form!

"Knives in the Water" by green_postit, read by reena_jenkins | Kirk/McCoy | AU, very dark! | A Star Trek Reboot Mobster AU, where just about all the choices are bad ones, and you have to stick with The Family to get you through it all... | 1hr. 50mins.

McCoy calls Kirk before he calls the police.

He can't remember what he says, but Kirk finds him in a blood-splattered room on the third floor. The display on his cell phone reveals only four minutes have passed from the time he put the call through to Kirk dropping down on his knees next to McCoy and pulling him firmly against his chest.

McCoy curls into Kirk easily, lets Kirk's hands dig into McCoy's neck and head to keep him as close to his pounding chest as he can. He smells like cigarette smoke and gin and McCoy nearly rattles apart under the familiar smells saturating his body.

I rec'd this fic already, some time ago, but now I've listened to the podfic version - and man, I'm still just as much in love with it as back then. It's so dark, but the love between Kirk and Bones is even more profound because of that.

"A Truth That's Told With Bad Intent" by nikki4noo, read by revolutionaryjo | Kirk/McCoy | Bones finds himself in the predicament of being engaged, to THE Captain James T Kirk. How to get out of the situation? Well, consider one nine year old girl and a Starship Captain to the rescue. What could possibly go wrong? | 2hr. 58min.

Bones exited his room, that damned rabbit in his hands. Waiting just outside his door, in shorts, t-shirt and sneakers was Jim, just leaning casually against the wall. At the sight of the soft toy, Jim grinned.

"Aww Bones, Rascally wuvs you! He just can't stay away," Jim purred towards Bones.

"Don't you give me no sass, you damned infant. Now put him back where he belongs," Bones glared at him and shoved the toy into Jim's chest.

LOL! Loved it. A well thought-out fic, especially Bones' background. Why aren't there more Kirk/Bones podfics? *pouts*

"Knives in the Water" by green_postit, read by reena_jenkins | Kirk/McCoy | AU | A Star Trek Reboot Mobster AU, where just about all the choices are bad ones, and you have to stick with The Family to get you through it all... | 18.500 words/1 hr. 50 min.

McCoy has no idea why he expected Kirk's constant presence at the hospital to stop once he got McCoy between his sheets, but he did. Suffice to say, when McCoy shows up to his first appointment of the day, seeing Kirk's smiling face in Exam Room 7 makes him stop dead in his tracks.

Kirk blinks innocently as he evenly informs McCoy of the ache in his cock that he's positive only McCoy can remedy.

I loved this fic. It's dark, very dark, but the relationship Jim and Bones have is amazing. Every character in this fic's amazing. I'm smitten!

"In The Discovery" by stage_longsama, read by reena_jenkins | Spock/OC, Spock/McCoy | Crack | Everyone wants on Spock but nobody knows how to bag a Vulcan. The result is people attempting to seduce Spock using all kinds of weird techniques they hear are surefire ways into his pants but he's not phased at all. And then one person gets it very, very, very right! | 5.200 words/34 min.

"You humans have a peculiar obsession with classifying your sexuality in definite terms when the subject itself exists in a fluid state," Spock answers smoothly, moving a pawn.

"Was that just you coming out to me?"

"I fail to see the need when I was never 'in.'"

Jim grins. "Touché, Spock," and lets Spock take his knight.

LOL! Seriously, LOL! I'm a die-hard Jim/Bones shipper, but this fic is just too funny not to rec it. Everybody loves Spock. LOL!

Star Trek: Deep Space 9 fic rec!

SLASH: Garak/Julian --> "Literacy" by The Hoyden. Summary: "You want me to read to you?" Julian repeated, somewhat taken aback. Words: 5.000+.

And there's a podfic version by twilight!

I love the Garak/Julian slash. They are my favorite pairing in the ST:DS9 fandom, actually the only pairing that I read about! I know that there used to be a whole archive for this pairing but I lost the link *pouts*
