"Wabbit Hunting" by supacat | Clark/Lex | Preslash, crack, utter crack! | Kryptonite turns Clark (or Superman) into a bunny. Lex grabs his gun and goes wabbit hunting. | 1.500 words

"You never change, do you," said Lex, when they were alone. "I suppose you've had powers all this time. You've just been pretending to be a normal rabbit."

The tirade went on for some time. The bunny stared up at him. Eventually Lex realised that he was talking to a rabbit and shut up.

This is a seriously LOLtastic fic. Crack pure and so cute and just... WAH! \o/

"Just Pie" by Livia | Clark/Lex | AU, humor, pre-slash | "The asking price for an evening in my company is pie. Non-negotiable." | ~2.800 words

Lex liked to think he was quick to pick up on even complicated concepts, and this one was dawning, albeit slowly. "You're a... college student."

"Yeah," Clark insisted.

"You have a couple of jobs." Lex repeated.

Clark nodded energetically.

"Including being a *pimp*?" Lex said, and Clark's eyes went huge, and he nearly dropped his tray.

"*Shhh*!"

This fic is perfect. So funny and sweet and angst-free. It just makes you grin like a loon!

"A Complicated Life" by alatri | Pre-slash | Future!fic | When Clark makes a discovery about Conner, honor forces him to tell Lex. Lex comes by to see for himself. | 4.500 words

Lex, incongruously, relaxed with a nod of approval at Conner. "If Clark is telling the truth, which he inevitably does, except when he's lying through his teeth badly, then you're flesh of my flesh. Or at least of my DNA." He shrugged. "Giving a pile of money now is better than being sued for child-support later."

Conner snorted. "You're just as bad as he is."

I really like SV future!fics with Conner. Especially when it's he who brings Clark and Lex back together :)

"Wisdom to Know the Difference" by bipolypesca | Clark/Lex | Future!fic | Knowledge isn't always power. | ~45.000 words

Kal made a muttering sound and both Lex and Lexx jumped as an errant arm came slapping over Lexx's chest. Lex's eyebrows arched, but before either of them were able to say a thing, Kal had wrapped Lexx in a tight embrace and cuddled up to his back, flattening his nose and lips against Lexx's neck.

Lex was surprised at such an overt expression of affection considering the length of time they'd apparently been together. But the expression on his other self's face—as if stoic acceptance and wry irritation were having a fistfight—convinced him it wasn't the norm.

"Kal." Lexx shrugged a shoulder firmly. "Kal."

Kal only mumbled and held him more tightly.

Lexx turned as well as he could, pressed the heel of his hand to Kal's shoulder, and gave a great heave. "Christ, you're like a furnace!"

I love the difference between Lex and Lexx on the one side and Clark and Kal on the other. The time jumping is quite confusing - well, time traveling always is, I guess :)

"Stuck Between Heaven and Hell" by mahaliem | Clark/Lex | Future!fic, Humor, H/c | Lex is haunted by Clark after Superman's fight with Doomsday. | 9.700 words

"What are you doing?" Clark asked as Lex searched his pockets.

"Stopping the thief," Lex replied. After searching some more, he finally let out a cry of triumph as he pulled a lighter from a pocket.

"Lex!" Clark shouted. "You're not seriously considering throwing a Molotov cocktail into the liquor store are you?"

Lex's face became blank. "Um... I'm not?"

"You'll burn the place down!"

"Of course. I wanted to be sure to destroy a significant amount of private property, destruction of the sort in which you excel. I don't have your strength, so I'm improvising."

This is hilariously funny but also very touching, with a smidgen of angst in all the right places. Loved it!

"And That Necessary" by Rana Eros | Clark/Lex | Future!fic | Lex has a theory that Clark needs more sleep than humans do | 1.300 words

He swore to protect Clark before he knew how much Clark needed to be protected, and part of that has been learning what constitutes how much of a threat. He'll fucking hibernate if that's what Clark needs, but he's got to be sure Clark won't just drop into a coma someday.

This is such an amazing feel!good story, seriously. It's schmoopy, but Lex is still Lex, so curious and poking around, but doing it to protect Clark...

"Inseparable" by bagheera_san | Clark/Lex | future!fic, h/c | Powerless, handcuffed to his evil nemesis and running for his life from mutant Antarctic Indians - worse things have happened to Clark Kent. Maybe | ~44.000 words

"Huh," Clark said. "You think mutant Antarctic Indians are responsible for global warming? People will love that."

Angry!Lex. Superman!Clark. Plot tied back to Naman and Segeth. Loved it 8)

"Everybody Waiting for Superman" by Chash | Clark/Lex | AU, Schmoop | In which Clark Kent is Clark Kent and Lex Luthor is kind of Bruce Wayne. A little bit | 6.800 words

After he graduated, Lex's father offered him a job. Entry-level, no perks--any power he wanted, he would have to earn. He'd nearly turned it down, but refusing his father would have been more than just losing a job. He knew he would have been cut off from the family's funds, and he needed those funds to work with Clark.

He hadn't told Clark that, of course. Clark wouldn't have heard of it, would have said Lex shouldn't have to work for his father just for him.

Clark has somehow missed that Lex would do anything for him.

I loved how Chash got Lex and Clark together in one classroom, what an original idea. I loved that mentally, they were the same age because of that. The story is so cute I want to smoosh it! \o/

"Adamantine" by Hope Roy | Clark/Lex, past Clark/Lois | Clark's coming home | ~6.000 words

Seven days after Clark's world fell apart, he finally showed up. After what Lex knew must have been seven days of anger and rage, hurt and guilt all combined, Clark finally, after everything, gave in.

Lex had been waiting.

From the moment that he'd read about Lois's death, he'd known Clark would come. It was inevitable.

Thy dynamics in this fic are so creepy, seriously - and so fascinating. The way Lex just disregards everything Clark's says, the way he molds Clark and makes him see things his way... Creepy.

"A Picture's Worth" by Hope Roy | Clark/Lex, past Clark/Lana and Lex/Lana | Pictures don't lie, even when Clark and Lex do. It's possible that a little truth is exactly what they need—even if it turns their lives upside down | ~23.000 words

Lex hated his emotions. They defied all logic, disregarded common sense, even when every part of his brain warned him he was being irrational. They were the reason for second chances, crushed hopes, and every hurt that he'd ever suffered.

They were the reason Clark still got to him, even after all the time they'd known each other.

Love the plot. Love that the author's not pulling any punches, that she doesn't blame solely Clark or Lex for how their friendship turned out, she doesn't take the easy way out - and you still love both her Lex and Clark.

"A Web of Lies" by Hope Roy | Clark/Lex, Clark/Lana, past Lex/Lana | DARK, Dub-con/non-con | AU after Promise. Clark thinks that he's finally gotten everything he ever wanted. It doesn't take him long to find out that ideals seldom last | 68.000 words

Lex only continued to smile. "And what do you think you can do to stop me?"

Clark felt something inside of him snap. "I'm leaving," he ground out, turning towards the door. "I don't even know why I came." Lex was always about games, twisting everyone else's mind, and Clark was tired of it. He didn't want to try to fight with Lex today--not when things were going so well in other parts of his life.

Lex's cold laugh chilled Clark to the bone. "Maybe it was because you know what I'm capable of."

This is a seriously dark and disturbing story. Don't expect happiness. Lex wants Clark and he doesn't care who he has to destroy to get him. And you know what's the most disturbing thing? Lex from S6-7, I can actually see him doing all that; as the S7 finale proved, not matter how much Lex hated Clark, he still loved him like a brother - Lex's own words.

Hope Roy's stories are amazing in their twisted darkness. Lex's evil, but still rational - and Clark's good, but not innocent. Her fics leave you feeling wrecked even if Clark and Lex end up together. She just has a way to keep them in character, angry, frustrated, full of hate - but still with this spark of hope that maybe, just maybe it could all change one day...

"A Man's Got to Know His Limitations" by LastScorpion. Sequels: "Aftermath", "Unexpected Miracle", "Whoops", "Falling", "Bad Dreams", "Algeria" and "Cheaper by the (Half) Dozen" | Clark/Lex/Lois | Fluff, AU, Mpreg, H/c | What happens with Clark, Lex, and Lois after the death of Superman? | 13.000 words

Then Lex said, "And what's all this with getting kittens out of trees, anyway?"

"I just can't stand to hear them crying."

"Kittens do get out of trees by themselves."

"Lex," Clark said exasperatedly.

"Otherwise the trees would be full of kitten skeletons."

This is fluff pure, seriously. Don't expect anything deep or dark or angsty. And I love all three of them in this fic, Lex, Clark and Lois! This series is so cute, you want to hug and pet it, hehe.

"A Box Called Time" by Sage | Clark/Lex, Clark/Lois | Off-screen death at the beginning | A grieving Superman returns to the one person he can trust | 6.700 words

Clark's eyes were wet again, which meant-- Lex's brain had already spun a hundred scenarios that would explain this moment, this completely surreal experience of waking up in the middle of the night to argue with one's former lover and current nemesis as he levitated above the bed. It didn't help that said lover/nemesis also happened to be the most powerful non-magical creature presently residing on the planet, or that something had possessed him to break in and demand the secret stash he'd entrusted to Lex over a decade before.

I love both Lex and Lois in this fic. Clark is so broken and both Lex and Lois are trying to fix him in their own way...

"Omiai" by toomuchplor | Clark/Lex | AU | A long story about Froot Loops, celery salt, dorkdom, and — oh yeah — marriage | ~105.000 words!

“You’re, what? Using a wrench?” Lex asked. “Clark, you are a wrench. You’re a wrench and a soldering iron and a hammer and I don’t know why you even have a toolbox.”

“I’m not a screwdriver,” Clark pointed out. “And also? Shut up and get the toolbox, okay? I don’t want to break the pipes by accident.” When Lex didn’t move, Clark glanced over his shoulder at him. “You don’t know where the toolbox is, do you?”

“Why should I know? I’m married to a wrench!” Lex exclaimed, making Clark shush him violently.

“It’s on the shelf by the drill. And if you call me a drill, I swear to god you’re not getting any pie.”

Man, what an awesome fic! Over 100k words of plot and angst and schmoop!

Also, two short sequels can be found here (together with an alternate link to "Omiai") - text quoted from one of the sequels.

"Ulterior Motives" by astolat | Clark/Lex | Everybody wants to rule the world | 19.400 words

"It's a little sad when someone's always looking for ulterior motives," Lex said, then dropped the pose and let his voice sharpen. "I've got work to do. The balcony doors are open; you can let yourself out. Feel free to keep the sheet if that's working for you."

He walked around the desk and picked up the phone, as effective a dismissal as anyone ever managed against Clark these days, and maybe that was where the impulse came from. Clark dropped the sheet. Lex glanced up from the phone and then gave him a wildly satisfying double-take, ignoring the voice coming from the other end; Clark let it go on a couple of beats, not enough time for Lex to recover, and then he said coolly, "Thanks, I'm good," and zipped out through the living room and the balcony doors at super-speed. He tore across the city to his own apartment and through the window and came to a gentle bounce landing on his own bed before he let himself grin at his own chutzpah: that and the look on Lex's face.

Great, great fic! With Batman and Joker! And Clark being all Superman-y and Lex being all deviously cool in his scheming. And the story has a plot! A very intriguing plot to that. Loved it *happy sigh*

"Useful Arts" by Rivka T. Clark/Lex. Clark's Kryptonian heritage, like Lex, is rich and powerful. And, like Lex, not entirely predictable. 38.000 words.

Lex had long held the hypothesis, tested rigorously and never disconfirmed, that proximity to Smallville was inversely correlated with the chance of success of any given venture of his. Even meteor rock—"Kryptonite"—behaved better the further it was removed from that town, that cancer in the shape of a Norman Rockwell vision.

I loved the fic. Not just Clark and Lex, but also Supergirl and Wonder Woman and the whole setting. I loved that Lex knew Clark would never forgive him for what he was about to do, but he did it anyway because he thought it to be right. And for the next ten years they both paid for it with loneliness and misery - and it could have been avoided with a little trust, like most of the bad things in SV.

"Meanwhile, back in Metropolis..." by Punk. Clex. Summary: You are not exclusively the brawn, and he is not always the brains. Length: ~14.000 words.

Most people have a picture of their significant other in their workspace. You have a special wing in the Fortress dedicated to things you've taken from Lex.

Computers that are probably too cold to ever work again. Huge magnets that get nervous around each other and have to be kept in separate rooms. Miles of copper pipe and wire. And then there are all the parts you can't identify, the metal boxes and tanks and tubes. The Fortress is starting to look like a scrap heap for particle physics, but you don't know what to do with it all. It belongs to Lex, and you can't destroy it or even give it away, so you keep it.

He's been talking about this for years, wants it like a sixteen-year-old wants his first car. You know it's a bad idea, but he won't listen. He thinks you're overreacting, but you've seen too much go wrong in Smallville to let him do this.

The klystrons are propped up in a corner next to some buckets. You wonder how normal people deal with relationship problems.

I find the style in which this fic is written quite fascinating. I might try it out too one day...

"Interstitial" by Punk. Clex. Summary: He doesn't know why this is happening. Length: ~27.000 words.

"You're doing this to annoy me, aren't you?"

"Yes," Clark says solemnly, "I spent three and half years at college, worked on the school paper with an editor that hated me, and sweated through three summers at the Planet just so I could annoy you by covering city council meetings. I'm devious that way."

Man, I love this fic, seriously. There's no Superman, there's no evil!Lex but it's still Clark and Lex and they are both awesome!

"Hideaway" by RivkaT. Clex. Summary: Lex makes Superman take vacation. Superman forces Lex to go with him. There are pirates. Length: ~17.000 words.

Lex gaped like a goldfish. “Clark,” he said when he’d recovered some composure, “are you seriously suggesting that we adopt a plan that never even worked for the villains on Scooby Doo?”

“Who’s in charge of plans here, anyway? Plus,” Clark continued, “there aren’t any pesky kids around.”

Funny. And seriously hot!

"Le Dormeur du Val" by Pun. Clex. Clark is so weary of it all, Lex watches and waits for him to wake. Length: ~10.000 words.

When he returned Clark was standing holding a sandwich limply in his left hand while his right continued rubbing at his eyes. Clark's shoulders were slumped, every part of him, in fact, seemed angled downward like he hoped to sink right through the floor. Lex felt his chest and stomach muscles constricting with nervous tension. With so much evidence directly in front of him, he couldn't deny that something was terribly wrong with Clark.

Slightly too mushy in places but nonetheless great read. I could literally feel just how exhausted Clark was.
