This looks amazing! James McAvoy, Daniel Radcliffe, Andrew Scott and directed by Paul McGuigan! It has a very Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes vibe and I love it!

I would say this one was the best yet. Even though there was way too much politicking. I hate politics. And the thing with "Dumbledore's Army" - you just knew that SOMETHING would go wrong, so it was like watching a train-wreck. I watched most of the movie with this anxious feeling in my chest, all clenched up on the inside. I really don't like feeling like this. I guess that's why I resisted watching these movies for so long. I prefer it when movies start with the baddie already at his/her power so it goes directly to the rebellion itself. When you have to watch everything go wrong again and again and again for the good guys...

I loved the last fight inside the Ministry of Magic. That was amazing! Wow at the special effects. I mean, when it came to Hagrid's brother, the CGI was a bit wonky but the fight itself? Wow, just wow! Amazing.

And, of course, another guy dead. And the most likable too...

Oh, I really liked Luna Lovegood. A weird girl but really awesome too.

You know, I think I would really like to see a movie about young Dumbledore and Miss McGonagall... about how Snape became the good guy and joined the Order... All that. That would be really awesome. As I said before, the teachers' story is much more interesting to me than Harry's. I guess that comes with age...

The movie was written by Max Landis (Chronicle), and it has been described as a sci-fi take on the original Mary Shelley story, which focuses on themes of friendship and redemption. In a previous interview, Landis revealed that it will be a period piece told from the perspective of the character Igor, and all the interesting misconceptions surrounding the mythology of the story and character. The movie will also explore where Igor came from, and if Victor Frankenstein was actually a doctor or a drop out. (...) Igor is also described as being pathologically dirty and dressed in old clown's clothing.

Please, let it be true. Let Fox and James' people hammer out a contract. I would love to see him and Daniel Radcliffe in a movie together. And in a sorta sci-fi version of Frankenstein to that! James really likes sci-fi takes on established stories, doesn't he?

I have read only the first two books so I had no idea what would happen in this movie - and maybe that's why I liked it much better than the previous two. Interesting. Looks like my decision to drop the books and just watch the movies is paying off. Though this one, as good as it was, felt rather like a prelude than a self-contained movie. When it was over, I thought, well... that's it? Hm.

And interesting twist with Sirius Black. He and Remus Lupin were giving off, at least IMHO, some pretty strong slashy vibes. Or maybe Sirius Black and James Potter? And Harry's father wasn't even there! I mean, when Sirius touched Harry's face and said that he looked so much like his father, but he had his mother's eyes... Or maybe a threesome, anyone? Sirius seemed so wistful...

I still can't get a read on Severus Snape. Is he protecting Harry or does Harry simply piss him off?

Why did Hermione actually use the device? Why did she have to go to so many classes? It was pretty irresponsible of her. And it was never explained.

And Draco Malfoy... I think the movies would've been much better if Draco wasn't such a one-tone sleazy character, if he had some redeeming qualities. But he's just a cowardly bully, nothing more. What a shame.

Yes, I'm actually doing it, denorios! I'm watching Harry Potter! The world is doomed! I'm now the proud owner of the first 6 movies, so I decided to marathon them.

Out of all the movies, HP1 is the only one that I've actually seen before. Fleetingly. And back then, I didn't like it. I found it downright boring. It just proves that I have to watch a movie when I'm in the right mood for it and on DVD, not on TV with all the darn commercials. Pah! Because this time around, I actually liked it. Quite a lot, to be honest.

I liked that all three main characters - Harry, Ron and Hermione - played their part, that all had to lend a hand for their "mission" to succeed. That was really lovely. And I couldn't stand Draco. Though I don't know if it's just the character or it's the actor rubbing me wrong. And I loved Harry's relationship with Dumbledore and with Professor McGonagall, they behaved more like his grandparents than his teachers :P

And Fluffy and Norbert were so sweet. Oh, Hagrid! LOL.

I decided to finally do it! I decided to finally watch the Harry Potter movies! Yes, I still haven't seen them (nor have I read the books except for the first two). So, I decided to finally bite into that apple and I bought movies 1-5 used from Amazon UK for Ł5.75 incl. shipping! I hope that there will be people on my flist willing to hold my hand and walk me through it or, you know, generally squee with me.

I seem to have developed a soft spot for Daniel Radcliffe lately - what a cool dude! - so I decided to give it finally a try. And I also added The Woman in Black to my Amazon wishlist. All his projects seem so interesting!
