204 The Fairy Godparents Job: Loved Parker being... not empathic at all and her giggle whenever someone mentioned being allergic to strawberries. Loved Nathan's outfit. Loved Sophie in pigtails. Loved Hardison doing Parker's job and Parker coaching him. Loved Eliot's disinterest in Hardison's gadgets.

In the commentary, I loved Jonathan Frakes' comments. The way they praised Aldis Hodge. Them talking about Gina's pregnancy, how they filmed around it. The comments about Chris Kane being great with children, how the kids love him... Love the commentaries!

203 The Order 23 Job: Honestly, I loved the B-plot of the ep better than the A-plot. You know, the part about the abused boy and Eliot's need to save him? That was awesome. Also, I loved the bickering between Eliot and Hardison. And Parker giggling when she poisoned the guy, that was funny.

My favorite quote? Parker: Did you just give a guy a nosebleed with the power of your mind? Ha!

Also, I loved the audio commentary, the awesome things they had to say about the Portland actors - and Christian Kane. I especially adored it when they talked about Chris and kids, that kids see Christian Kane as Batman :P

202 The Tap-Out Job: What a lovely Eliot episode - Christian Kane was awesome in it. I loved Eliot's chats with Sophie, they're great together. And once again, Eliot was "in danger" - hehe, just once I would love for the danger to be real, not staged to get the bad guys. Loved that Eliot's been teaching Parker how to fight, that's a real big bro thing to do. The scene where Parker put Hardison in a choke-hold was so funny! And the fact that Nate didn't react at all to what the kids were doing behind the couch was so, so hilarious!

In the commentary, I loved that they praised Christian for being such an accomplished actor and for doing his own stunts. And it's cute that the writers/directors/execs themselves are calling Parker, Hardison and Eliot "The Kids" whereas Nate and Sophie are considered "The Parents" :P

Nate: You thought Parker dressed up as a nun for no reason?
Eliot: It’s Parker.

I decided to marathon Leverage S2 on DVD! First I watch the ep, then I watch it again with the audio commentary. Dean Devlin and the others - writers and directors - are so funny!

201 The Beantown Bailout Job: I loved how the team invaded Nate's home - and how he wanted them out, out, OUT and they just didn't listen to him. Sophie and The Sounds of Music. Parker and Hardison, Sophie and Eliot - that was so cute. Eliot making fun of Parker in that nun outfit! The orange juice in the fridge. And Hardison bought the building! Oh, and I loved the scene where Sophie "killed" Eliot, that looked so real - Christian Kane was awesome there!

I love the team so much. They clicked so fast this season, like right away!

I'm now all caught up on my shows! And that's a good thing. I can now start watching the shows I bought on DVD! Just today, I received Leverage S2 and Smallville S2 on DVD! But first, I think I'll take a look at Fringe...

Day 19 - Best TV show cast:

Well, I would say SGA but that would be cheating, I've used the SGA card too many times already so... something else... WhiCo! Ugh, I used that too many times too...

Leverage, that's one I haven't mentioned yet! Awesome cast! So funny. And I hope that now that Gina Bellman's back, the show will get back on track again. Oh, don't get me wrong, I love Jerri Ryan - I've loved her since Seven of Nine! - but the original cast clicked perfectly, they played off each other so well when Gina had to drop out for some time because of her pregnancy and let Jerri replace her. After the smooth beginning of S2, the change seemed... jarring. But I'm glad that my favorite team is back together again! \o/

Ha, I love the new Leverage S3 poster - not as classy as the previous ones, but very funny:

Somewhat bigger version is available here.

Spoiler for a S3 guest star, as tweeted by a delighted Chris Kane:

* According to MediaPost, the Q Scores Company, part of Marketing Evaluation, devised the so called Emotional Bonding Q index which "assigns a number to viewers' emotional connection to TV shows." And guess what shows ranked the highest among males 18-49 on all TV? Burn Notice and White Collar!

* BTW, according to TVbytheNumbers.com, Leverage returns on Sunday June 20 with a two-hour season premiere! I hope to be all caught up on the show via DVD by then! (DVD comes out on May 25)

* I'm thinking of hoarding the rest of Numb3rs - only four more episodes to go! - and then marathoning it in one go. It's easier to go through the teeth-gritting or mind-numbing parts when you have more Colby and David in one heap!

* Leverage is still delegated to DVD. I love the show and I love the "kids" - Eliot, Hardison and Parker - but my plate is just too full! Besides, the audio commentaries on the DVDs are hilarious. And also insightful!

* White Collar and Supernatural return next week! My favorite two shows back on TV. I hope that a) Neal and Peter stay buddies and b) Sam and Dean's... brotherness... will be back. I can't do without the one or the other.

* I decided to download the season finale of Sanctuary - the promo looked good and besides, I really want to LIKE this show. I stopped watching around 105 but I was told that just after that it became really good. Hm. Ok, I will give it a another go.

* Still need to catch up on: Castle, Bones, The Mentalist and House.

* And the pilot of Human Target is out on torrents? It might be a good one so I'll try it out - even though the opening credits left kinda blah :( But I'm not getting too excited about it. I loved the old version with Rick Springfield - I really, REALLY loved it - so a re-do... Springfield's character, Christopher Chance, was so broken and his team was so protective of him that the show pushed all my buttons!

... I won't continue watching you "life" anymore. I'm already 3 eps behind - just like last year - so I'll simply marathon you once you're out on DVD - just like last year. I do like Leverage a lot, don't get me wrong, but it's never been one of my "OMG, NEED TO WATCH NOW!" shows and my plate is awfully full this season...

I'm now all caught up on Leverage. 2x05 was an average episode but I loved the team's interaction, especially among the "kids": spoilers! )

I read a spoiler about how they want to deal with Gina Bellman's pregnancy, that spoilers for episodes that did NOT air yet! )

This show's getting better and better!

2x03 )

2x04 )

I wonder how they will cut the season. I mean, I read somewhere that they plan to separate the second season into two blocks, just like USA and SyFy do with their shows. I wonder how many episodes they will air now and when the rest...
katikat: (Default)
Yay, the eps of S2 are - at least so far - much better than S1's! *bounces*

2x01 )

2x02 )

You know, the team feels much more like a family this season. I don't know why. Maybe the writers finally really "got" the characters? And it's fun how they are trying to hide Gina Bellman's pregnancy :P
katikat: (Default)
Lookie, I felt creative yesterday and thus I made a couple of Bones icons from the new promo pics, nothing fancy, I just cut it out and re-sized :P

Icons! )

Also, me and icons? I hate washed-out colors so all my icons are colorful and vibrant and they might seem rather dark to some people, but I just love this type of pics :)

I finished the Leverage S1 DVDs! The audio commentary to The Second David Job was hilarious - especially the part where they were talking about Christian Kane! In the scene where Eliot was calling Nate's ex-wife? It was all Christian Kane, not "Eliot". According to the commentators, Christian used his own voice in that scene, the voice he uses when he's seducing women! 8D And the last part of the scene where Nate's asking about why Eliot is pulling back his hair and Eliot sputters angrily? All improvised! And the writers and the director LOVED it! XD

It's true that the show and the characters' progress make much more sense when you watch the episodes as they are listed on the DVDs, not as they were aired on TNT. On the DVDs you see clearly how the team's getting closer and how Nate's drinking problem is getting worse... I'm glad I waited for the DVDs!

You know what I love about the audio commentaries? How aware TPTB are of their fans' reactions. Like, in The 12-Step Job? The scene where Hardison pretended that he and Eliot were boyfriends? The writer knew that it was a fan-favorite scene. Or when Parker jumped-hugged Eliot? A scene that spouted dozens of fics pairing up Parker and Eliot. It's actually kinda cute.

Though it gets a bit annoying how they keep repeating that they are filming the episodes on a 7-days-basis, like it's a huge accomplishment of some sorts. I mean, it's awesome, don't get me wrong, but it's a team show where you can split five people and film separately. Supernatural, IIRC, is filmed on an 8-days-basis - with only two leads who are in almost every scene. I mean, compared to that...

But I love how TPTB loves the scenes with Aldis Hodge and Christian Kane. I loved the bit where they said that those two were friends in RL so it was easy to film their bickering and that Christian actually taught Aldis how to mock-fight.

And the huge fight between Eliot and the baddie in The First David Job? That guy's one of Christian Kane's best friends, when they were kids they already planned these huge fights in Christian's home's basement, that's why Christian rec'ed this guy for that role. Is it just me or is every other person "one of Christian Kane's best friends"? ;P

Wow, that was much more serious than the rest of the season. Like, they got really hurt, physically and emotionally. They tore down all their bridges to take revenge and that was quite awesome. I really felt that they were a team, kicking awesome butt together. But I also like Sterling, he's an awesome enemy, quite scary.

Tomorrow, I will watch the audio commentaries and then, it's season 2, baby! I'm quite glad that I actually waited with the cliffhanger at the end of the season until new eps were out. Otherwise, I would have bitten my nails off waiting for the show to get or not get picked up, for new eps to come!
