don't be dull, be fannish

Matt Bomer got a part in Ryan Murphy's The Normal Heart which is an "autobiographical drama, written by Larry Kramer, that details the rise of HIV/AIDS in New York’s gay community in the 1980s." It will feature Mark Ruffalo as the main character, Ned Weeks, and also Julia Roberts, Alec Baldwin, Jim Parsons and now Matt Bomer. Matt Bomer's character is "that of Felix Turner, a gay fashion journalist who becomes Week’s boyfriend and tragically contracts the disease." Link.

I'm already all wobbly and teary-eyed just reading this but it's awesome that a) Matt's getting more "big parts" and b) we will see Matt and Jim Parsons in one movie together! But yeah, Matt is fantastic in these tragic roles, see his stint in In Time which was the best part of the movie, hands down.

TVLine.com posted an interview with Matt Bomer & Tim DeKay about the upcoming S3.5: link - beware, it's slightly spoilery. And it's great reading about them just bantering together. It's so, so obvious how much they like each other and it's wonderful!

This! This is why I love WhiCo. The writers should take notice and focus on that, on the relationship between Peter & Neal. It should never take the backseat to shipping or any other stuff that they tried to force down our collective throat during S2.5 and S3.0 for the sake of a "shake-up".

Jeff Eastin's WHITE COLLAR comes back (...) with its wonderful cast including Matt Bomer as Neal Caffery. This is my favorite television series and has been now for three years. If any of you readers of The Wolf Gift want to see what my hero, Reuben, looks like, just google Matt Bomer. I was inspired by his beauty the entire time I was writing The Wolf Gift. Highly recommended.

For some reason, I find it highly amusing - and quite endearing. Man, she's smitten with Matt. Well, not that I blame her ;)

I love Matt Bomer, I really do, but in Traveler he just didn't do it for me, he didn't click. Maybe because he played a boy and now he plays a man? I mean...

It's the same actor, these pictures were taken just a few years apart and still. It's like looking at a completely different person. I have a similar reaction to Jensen Ackles: Jensen in Smallville? Whatever. Jensen in Supernatural? OMGOMGOMG! Weird. Maybe it's because I prefer characters closer to my own age? *scratches head*

A pretty interesting thing Anne Rice said about Matt Bomer:

USA just reran the pilot of White Collar, so I got to see how the series started, and frankly loved it. I'm looking forward to July 13th when the second season starts. I'm loving Matt Bomer, and remain convinced that some day he would be a wonderful Louis de Pointe du Lac in a film. I mean if somebody has to follow Brad Pitt, it should be Matt Bomer. Link
