Some more thoughts about last night's SPN ep... and lookie! Plot bunnies! 8P

So, the whole Bela sob story... Please, if we have to keep the bitch, could she at least become a part of the main plot and not just an obvious tag-on bimbo? I mean, it would be great if Lilith possessed Bela's sister/cousin/daughter/member of her family or if it was her fault that Lilith was out of Hell and/or possessing this child, if Bela caused the whole apocalypse by her greed and now she tried to make up for it and that was why she stole the colt. That would make her presence at least bearable.

I just hope that her sob story won't be totally unrelated to the plot, just a filler to show us that yus, she does have a heart, the poor thing. If she has to be redeemed - and obviously, there is no way around it now - at least redeem her by making her a part of the plot like Ruby! *sigh*

And I totally live in denial about Henricksen's death. And look, there is a plot bunny! Imagine Henricksen, Nancy and the deputy waking up after the blast, alive. The charms protected them. The deputy, being the idiot that he is, runs yelling our of the ruins and right into the arms of Lilith's minions who kill him. Henricksen seeing that, pulls Nancy down, forcing her to shush. They hide in the burnt down building until Lilith's minions go away. Then they run, looking for the Winchesters. Meanwhile, Sam and Dean are sitting in their room, all depressed after Ruby's departure. And suddenly, there is knock on the door. They open it and there are Henricksen and Nancy, scared, pissed and bleeding but alive...

Oh, and the fact that it's pretty much obvious that Lilith's the one holding Dean's contract, is even more shiver-worthy now. Lilith is pretty much an evil lust creature in the body of a child. And obviously, she "likes" Dean... Can you imagine Dean being the play toy to a cruel demon child? Wow, someone with much more talent than I have HAS to write it like now!

Oh, and unrelated... USA Psychs Out Competition:

According to Nielsen Media Research data for the week ended Feb. 17, (the USA network) wrapped its seventh straight ratings win, among ad-supported cable nets, giving it a perfect record for 2008 thus far. (...) Part one of the two-hour season finale of Monk drew 5.6 million viewers Friday night, setting the table for this week’s one-hour wrap. At 10 p.m., Psych continued to hold the majority of its lead-in audience, averaging 4.7 million viewers.

Wow! I mean, we already know that Psych was re-newed for S3 but it's so great to see how many people actually watch and love it! It's terrific that at least one of my favorite shows is really appreciated!

Unfortunately, they will redeem her, as Sera Gamble herself said, to make her an asset to the boys. And as long as Gamble is writing the eps and Ostroff is on the high horse, Bela will never go splat. She is uber cool after all. She even knows Henricksen to tip him off where to find the Winchesters *rolls eyes*

I just really hate characters like her. If she was less snarky, less horny, I would like her but I can't stand women like her in RL, demeaning others to prove their strength, and I project my feelings into the show. The Winchesters are not equals to her and that's very bad in a show that's about the Winchesters. Or at least should be.

Can't hear you, lalalalala. Seriously, I really cannot see a way of Bela being redeemed without Sailor Moon popping in. I wonder how they want to turn her into any kind of asset, when Bela is basically incompatible with the boys. She might pop in occasionally with something hard to get, but they cannot work together. Unless she gets permanently possessed. That could work. XD

And ditto, people like her are very, very annoying. Luckily I know very few. :) Still, I think the problem the Winchesters have is that they didn't spend enough time around people, so their morals are a little out of this world.

Sorry, I never know who is spoiler-free on my flist and who is not. But be assured that I know zip about the eps to come, this was just a very general interview with Sera Gamble - who very much swooned about Bela; she basically worshipped the ground Bela walked on. But it's pretty obvious from this episode where Bela's storyline is headed. She obviously doesn't want to sell the colt. So the only other possibility is that she wants to use it - tadaaaaaaaah, a sob story. A sob story will of course make the Winchesters change their minds about her because they are good boys. Tadaaaaaaaah, Bela is all redeemed and shiny *shrugs*

I think that Kripke has very little to say about if the character stays or goes - she's Ostroff's forced upon pet - so he HAS to make the fans somehow like her. She didn't work out well as an antagonist, she didn't really win the fans over, so the only other way to go is make her good. That's simple deduction *shrugs again*

I prefer to ignore interviews, though I do read spoilers, sometimes.

Still, it doesn't add up. Whatever Bela is up to, there is no way I can see her be redeemed unless maybe she sacrifices herself along the way to stop the apocalypse. She is selfish, conceited and spoiled, I don't see how they can even begin to change the boy's minds without some really, REALLY lame writing. She shot Sam for some trinket. I can't see Dean getting over that, ever.

Here's a thought: why don't we start a petition against Sera Gamble running the show?

*sighs* As I said to a friend, I'm slowly but surely reaching the stage of "whatEVER" with the both of them, Bela and Gamble. There's only so many times I can go with my head against the wall. Bela is there to stay no matter what so I will just not re-watch the Bela!eps and skip the small scenes that she will be in in the rest of the episodes. She's really not worth elevated blood pressure *sighs again*
