I graduated today! O.O The ceremony was... boring, really. There were over 40 students there awaiting their graduation and it took us almost an hour and a half to get our diploma. Then the dean held her speech *groans* I hate that woman. We had our disagreements in the past because she is an overbearing old hag who sticks her nose where it doesn't belong. I hate her so much that I don't even greet her. On purpose. Because I know that it's pissing her off like nothing else *is spiteful*

But on the other hand, I graduated "cum laude" - straight A's all five years - so it was great to hear them say it. It was a sort of satisfaction after studying like crazy for the good grades... Studying stuff that I don't use at all these days. Well, I love the job I have more than any other I could have won thanks to this diploma anyway.

But obviously, the whole ceremony is a theater for the relatives etc. etc. Paint me weird but I could care less. My mum on the other hand, was all touchy feely. I was just happy that I could put the whole circus behind me and return to my peaceful and quiet life.

Oh, I looked really good though. We don't wear black gowns for the graduation ceremony so I chose a light violet knitwear costume which is so comfy and looks really great at the same time :)

Thank you! :) This was my second graduation ceremony, maybe that was the reason why it didn't feel special any more. On the one hand, I feel sorry and miss this "special" feeling. On the other hand, I'm happy that I don't feel all wobbly and sad because my U time is over. Eight years at the U were more than enough, I think :) Every time I hear about "studying" now, my hackles rise XD I think I'm developing an allergy against anything school-related XD

Even though you seem to dislike all the formalities: Congratulations to your graduation! And 'cum laude', too. If that isn't worth celebrating a little... Ugh, your dean doesn't semm to a the nicest person on Earth. But since you're already happy with your job you'll quickly forget about her.

Thank you, thank you! As I said to Sharon, this was my second graduation already. I was a BA and now I'm a MA in a different field too. But I really don't feel like studying for a doctorate anymore even though everybody is strongly suggesting that I should. Eight years at the U are more than enough, I think :)

Oh, I guess I can understand that feeling. I've been studying for four years now and I already feel that that should be enough. Since I have to do the practical teacher training after my studies I feel smothered by all the useless theory stuff. So take a break from studying and work. Should you really want to think about a doctorate there's still time to do that afterwards.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

That was a lot of hard work but you stuck it out. And Cum Laude too!! That is wonderful to have your work acknowledged in that way. Happy Dance.

Thank you! :) *snuggles* Eight years at the U, a BA and a MA in different fields... It feels good to have a strong background should I ever need to go job-hunting *touches wood and hopes that it never happens* Folks want me to go for the doctorate but I'm simply too tired of studying, of days and days with my nose stuck in books I don't even like. When I left the U, I felt like finally breathing freely after all these years. It's just too bad that nobody seems to understand that. Fortunately, I learned to say no :)

*blushes* Thank you so much. It feels like this heavy weight was shifted off my shoulders, you know? Everyone thinks that the life of a student is all about free time and parties. But one has to study a lot to have good grades.

O.O Wai! *throws a party in your honor* But I know how you feel about graduation ceremonies. I've been to mine and my brother's and it's just really... waiting for your name and more waiting (in the cold, as nights get really cold here). XD;; Hope you got really good pics and nice memories though! *snugs*
