Of Streamload, books and anime

Last night, I bought a Streamload account. I want to try it out since I've heard lotsa good about it. Although I wouldn't have believed what they were asking for in the sign-in form. The phone number on the back of the card? What for? I mean, I live in the Czech Republic. Do they want to call across the ocean just to ask about one credit card? O.o Not even Amazon goes that far!

I almost caught up on the Angel Heart anime. It's really good. And getting better. I didn't like the first arc much. But now, that Ryo is back to being City Hunter, it's really cool. And this anime has the most cool music!

Also trying to catch up on GunXSword. I started downloading SHRIMP's version and it's not half bad :) Thank you for the tip, Sharon *kisses* But I completely forgot how silly some of the baddies are XD

DO NOT READ the Ruins of Ambrai, there's no third book and she leaves it on one hell of a cliffhanger! I will save you, all there is a gay couple in it, they're utterly wasted I don't want to spoil it, but I've been waiting 8 years for book three and the lazy cow hasn't written it yet.
If you believe me on only one thing believe me that there is no "captal's tower" and save yourself the indigestion that will come with that book!
on the other hand the sunrunner books are really good and if you like her you'll like Tad Williams (who is a love) and all his series are up to date at the moment, or David Eddings who's fun too, you can probably pick those all up second hand.

Thank you for the warning. I didn't buy the book because of gay characters. It has been recommended to me because it takes place in a matriarchal society - there are so few books where the traditional roles of males and females are switched that I will take anything! X(

I think I have the first book of the Sunrunners somewhere in a Czech edition. Is it really that good?

Melanie Rawn writes the best female characters, i won't deny it, but the series is more an equality than a matriarchy.
It's a good book, whcih makes the lack of an ending even more annoying.
I read the sunrunner books as they came out, they're based around this really compelling female character, Sioned, who takes no crap from noone and the man she loves who never really does anything in my opinion but live in her considerable shadow.
there is a character in it called Andry who i adored. and i won't tell you any more than that. THey are worth the read. and the covers are beautiful.

Hmmmm... I've read The Sunrunners series from Melanie Rawn and loved it. I bought The Ruins of Ambrai some time ago but I couldn't seem to get into it. I hope you'll have a better read, than I did. I can't even remember the detail. ^^;

and Earthian... I'm still debating the manga... the anime just made me so upset.

Yellow!!! Ack! I need to see if Vol. 4 is out! *runs off*

I bought the first book of the Snurunners series a long time ago but I haven't read it yet. Actually, I'm not sure if I even have the book anymore O.o The Ruins of Ambrai is the first book in the Exile trilogy but the third book is still not out... and it's been years since the second one was published :(

I love Earthian. It's Love with a capital L. I'm looking forward to it more than to Yellow. Maybe it's because I adore Kouga's style from that time. I don't like the way she is drawing Loveless. The anime is beautiful but the manga looks like she didn't have enough time or interest to make it look good. Everything is either white or black and it's drawn in a quite simple way. When you see the palaces in Earthian, they are breathtaking. Loveless is blah compared to that. The story might be interesting mut the art leaves me unsatisfied :(

Amazon still says that Yellow 4 isn't out yet :( But I can't wait for Gorgeous Carat Galaxy in July! *bounces*
