"Edge of Destiny (Guild Wars #2)" by J. Robert King

That's... it? Are you frickin' kidding me?! So, Logan betrays his friends - without a moment of hesitation, I might add - it leads to two of them dying and to the survival of Kralkatorrik, and his reaction is, at least I stayed true to my queen? ARE YOU FRICKIN' KIDDING ME?! No redemption or punishment or even a lesson learned?

You know, I really hope that Rytlock takes the Blood Legion and wipes Divinity's Reach and the Seraph and especially Logan Thackeray off the face of Ascalon, because neither Logan, nor his precious Queen Jennah deserve anything better.

Books rarely piss me off but this one managed it thoroughly. The ending destroyed any pleasure I took from reading the book. God, what a frickin' mess!

That was a weird movie. Not bad, just not really good either. Though thumbs up for the weird looking aliens, now those were scary monsters! And the CGI was mostly great. But the characters and some of their lines...

Well, Sean and Ben were kinda cool and Natalie too. Annie... eh. I actually cheered when the monsters destroyed her, she was really, really annoying. So, I guess, the bad apples were weeded out fast enough, though I felt sorry for Ben, his was a really unnecessary death. I get that Vika was scared, but all she had to do was jump down onto the tracks. Oh well...

What I really liked was the ending, that it wasn't clean-cut. Humans just started to fight back, it stopped being about the destruction of the human race, it turned into a full blown war. I liked that.

Overall? I'm glad I saw the movie, there were some good scenes in it and Emile Hirsch and Olivia Thirlby were great, too. On the other hand, I'm glad that I didn't go to see it in the cinema, that I bought it from the cheap bin at Datart. It wasn't worth the big bucks.

"Skyscrapers of Oz" by Yoshino Somei & Row Takakura

Rating: ♣ ♣ ♣

The seme/uke characterization is very stereotypical here - the semes are larger, older and tougher, the ukes smaller, younger and sweeter - but that's not something I necessarily mind if the story is good. And this manga has an actual plot, it's not just sexing all around. What I do mind is the fact that it's about adult men sleeping with teenagers. That's dangerously close to being skeevy and squicky, to be perfectly honest. And that's why only 3 stars.
