MMM: #10 The Darkest Hour

That was a weird movie. Not bad, just not really good either. Though thumbs up for the weird looking aliens, now those were scary monsters! And the CGI was mostly great. But the characters and some of their lines...Well, Sean and Ben were kinda cool and Natalie too. Annie... eh. I actually cheered when the monsters destroyed her, she was really, really annoying. So, I guess, the bad apples were weeded out fast enough, though I felt sorry for Ben, his was a really unnecessary death. I get that Vika was scared, but all she had to do was jump down onto the tracks. Oh well...
What I really liked was the ending, that it wasn't clean-cut. Humans just started to fight back, it stopped being about the destruction of the human race, it turned into a full blown war. I liked that.
Overall? I'm glad I saw the movie, there were some good scenes in it and Emile Hirsch and Olivia Thirlby were great, too. On the other hand, I'm glad that I didn't go to see it in the cinema, that I bought it from the cheap bin at Datart. It wasn't worth the big bucks.
