"Must Love Hellhounds"Rating: ♣ ♣ ♣
An anthology of 4 urban fantasy stories.
"The Britlingens Go to Hell" by Charlaine Harris: ♣ ♣ ♣
A mix of fantasy and sci-fi which is not my cuppa. I prefer either one or the other. Slightly confusing mythology. But points for some unconventional ideas, like a couple of female bodyguards or a man as the object of Lucifer's sexual desire, still rather novel conceptions, even today.
"Angel's Judgment" by Nalini Singh: ♣ ♣ ♣
Quite easy to follow mythology and likable main characters. Amazing secondary characters. What I didn't like was the main heroes jumping into bed together just hours after they met. One-night stands or promiscuity is not my idea of fun.
"Magic Mourns" by Ilona Andrews: ♣ ♣ ♣ ♣
The best story in the anthology! Even not knowing the background, it felt like the relationship between the main characters had been brewing for quite some time. It was funny and sweet. And the main heroine had balls without being bitchy, lovely.
"Blind Spot" by Meljean Brook: ♣ ♣
My least favorite story. Confusing all around. Some of the twists I simply didn't get. It felt like bits were missing, we went from A to Z with quite a disconnect. Way too complicated mythology for a short story.
