Day 29: Favorite ‘birds of a feather flock together’ couple

Doyle & Bodie, The Professionals

Yeah, Doyle is pretty much the bleeding heart whereas Bodie is all "devil may care" but despite their different background - Doyle was a cop, Bodie a mercenary - they are both ruthless and would do anything to protect their country and each other - see Bodie slapping that woman who kidnapped Doyle, a sight unseen on TV these days! O_o

Hmm... This makes me want to re-watch the show. I have it on DVD, the whole thing, but I haven't checked out the discs yet, I've only seen it like ten times on TV, it's incredibly popular here, even though it's 30 years old already.

Emma Frost by Clint Clearley

You know, I don't care what anybody says, I really liked January Jones as Emma Frost. She made the character a cold, untouchable, emotionless doll - the perfect antithesis to Charles Xavier who, despite his cocky attitude, has always been warm and sweet. I liked it, I liked it a lot. Even looking at them, they were the polar opposites: she tall and styled, he short and fluffy. Perfect!

In this TVLine interview - link - David Shore talks about House and Wilson and what happened in the season finale.

TVLINE | Can you see revisiting this character in the future in some way?

I love this character. And I know Hugh loves this character. I keep it open, but the chances of that happening from a practical point of view are slim. I would hate to lock in my head, “I will never revisit this character again.” That would be a depressing idea to me.

Well, for once I'm happy to hear that it doesn't look like there will be a movie or something. I thought the show had the perfect ending and what happens next should be left to people's imagination because whatever the writers would come up with, it would never make fans happy, any fans but especially the House/Wilson fans. As it is, the show ended on a high, bright note and it should be left there!

What Shore said about House and his plans for the future... )

According to this article - link - Jim Parsons officially came out as gay.

In an interview with the New York Times, Parsons discusses his recent work on Broadway, which includes playing a gay activist in The Normal Heart.

In reporting Parsons' affinity for the play, author Patrick Healy revealed something that has been long speculated. "The Normal Heart resonated with him on a few levels: Mr. Parsons is gay and in a 10-year relationship, and working with an ensemble again onstage was like nourishment," he wrote.

Lovely. I'm glad that he felt comfortable enough to come out.

You know, seeing him and Matt Bomer, both in stable gay relationships, I wonder what America is afraid of, why do some Americans think that gay marriage and homosexuality in general threaten their values. Boggles the mind, seriously.

Oh, and I'm glad that Parsons and Bomer will be together in the movie version of The Normal Heart. Parsons will reprise the part he played on Broadway while Matt Bomer will play the HIV positive lover of Mark Ruffalo. Heartbreaking, sure, but I hope it'll get them both more recognition.
