I got my hands on so many fantastic books in the last few days/weeks...

-- The first 5 books in the "Bryant&May" series by Christopher Fowler
-- "The Hobbit" by JRR Tolkien
-- "The Execution of Sherlock Holmes" by Donald Thomas
-- "Jakubovy housle" by Daniela Mičanová
-- "Sherlock Holmes and the Ice Palace Murders" by Larry Millett
-- "Sherlock Holmes na cestách" by Martin P. Edwards
-- The first 2 books in the "Nikki Heat" series by Richard Castle

And that's just the books in Czech! I can't decide which one to read first *flappy hands*

Also, I'm reading "Breaking Dawn" by Stephenie Meyer at the moment and I honestly don't get why some people hate this series with such passion. The Cullen family is fantastic and I'm glad to see Jacob and Edward finally get along *shrugs* What's the saying? Haters gonna hate?

"There's A First Time For Everything" by Kate_Lear | John/Sherlock | A series of 'firsts' in Sherlock's life. | ~21.000 words

It isn’t until very late the following night – so late that it’s early – that he realises. They’re halfway through a Chinese meal of staggering proportions, and Sherlock is making John laugh with his predictions of the fortune cookies. When John grins at him, eyes bright and alive with mirth, he’s almost unrecognisable as the quiet, sad-faced man who limped into the lab only yesterday, and Sherlock’s stomach gives a little leap as he smiles back. It’s been so long since he was attracted to anyone that it takes him a moment to identify the feeling, but when he does he looks at John – deceptively non-threatening in his knitted jumper – and thinks Oh.

Lovely, lovely fic.

Okay, I admit it. I cried. I got all sniffly and red-eyed. Every time I watch any of the versions of Reichenbach, I turn into a puddle of unhappy goo. It's so incredibly sad. I mean, I understand WHY Holmes pretended to be dead but to see it from Watson's POV, to see him so incredibly unhappy...

On the other hand, this episode had so many wonderful Holmes&Watson scenes. Like when Holmes refused to stay in their flat overnight because he didn't want to endanger Watson. Or when he asked Watson to accompany him to the continent. Or when he lied to Watson about seeing Moran, to protect him. Or the wonderful yet incredibly sad letter he wrote to him. Or the way Watson touched Holmes' cigarette case, so gently and sadly... ;_;

This episode was even sadder for me because it was the last one featuring David Burke as Watson. From now on, Watson will be played by Edward Hardwicke, as shown in my icon. I really hope I'll fall in love with him as much as I fell in love with Burke's Watson *crosses fingers*
