I love me some unashamed h/c! And when it's of the Charles variety, I'm as happy as a clam \o/
"Sorry," he apologizes and rubs a hand over his face, taking a deep breath and trying to reign in his mind. Organise his thoughts. Shut everything out. Keep everything in. It shouldn't, he thinks, be this much effort. It isn't usually.
Erik shrugs, and it's a long, graceful movement. "I don't mind."
Charles loves that he doesn't.
"And I love that you love that I don't," Erik smiles- or more like smirks- then takes hold of Charles's hand and turns his wrist over, palm upwards.

Yeah, it's partially inspired by The Last King of Scotland, I freely admit it - which I still haven't seen yet - and I think it would fit the characters of Charles and Erik perfectly.

I would like to read a story where Charles used to be a volunteer in Africa and he gave his job and the people he fell in love with over there everything and more, physically, psychically, that it lead to his physical and mental breakdown. Now he's living in the US, organizing charity to help somehow, because the doctors strictly forbid him any strenuous activity. Cue in Erik who used to be a mercenary in Africa but couldn't take the cruelty of the corrupt government over there and left, maybe killing a dictator of some kind over there first, so he can't go back either. But he doesn't know what Charles did in the past and when he sees him, he thinks "a pampered rich white boy who knows nothing about life," of course.
