Imagine Pirates of the Caribbean, only gay. The inspiration is pretty obvious. Oh, not that I complain, mind you, it's a pretty sweet book, if thin on the plot - what there is of the plot, is pretty interesting and I actually felt a bit sorry that the author didn't focus more on that, that she didn't thicken it, instead of going down the easy road and peppering the book with gratuitous sex scenes - pretty hot sex scenes, though. So yeah, a good book and even though it's nothing outstanding, I'll probably read #2 in the series.

The beauty that's Ghanima (and Leto)

I'm seriously smitten with Children of Dune - I bet you figured it out by now what with my inability to shut up about it. I just adore the atmosphere, the deep sensuality of the mini-series. And let's not forget how stunning Ghani is...





I just adore the costumes she wears, the one with the hat is... *_*

And then there is her relationship with Leto... *happy sigh*

You know, until CoD, I was only into brothers - hey, I even have a tag "kink: brothers" - mostly because, when it comes to a brother and a sister, they are always portrayed as protective!brother & vulnerable!sister - which is pretty much as EWW as it gets for me. But in CoD, Leto and Ghani are equals, physically and in their protective feelings towards each other. Yes, I think they kick started a new kink for me...

Fic rec: X-Men: First Class

"The kitten!verse" by Ren | Charles/Erik | AU, fluff | Modern AU in which Charles and Erik are flatmates. Charles studies psychology and likes tea and chess and keeps bringing home stray kittens, and Erik lets him because he's maybe perhaps a little bit sort of in love with him. | ~7.500 words

To be fair he still hates most people, but he always finds it difficult to hate Charles, even when he's stressed about finals and wakes up Erik at three in the morning to recite him the names and key traits of personality disorders until Erik is convinced that he has at least a dozen of those. Not even when Charles drags him to the bookstore for the third time in the same week and buys enough books to fill a small library and Erik is the one who has to actually carry them home. Not even when they order pizza and Charles spends thirty minutes choosing what to have and then orders something off the menu and then decides that Erik's plain mushroom pizza looks much better. And Erik ends up caving under the puppy eyes and splits his pizza with Charles and ends up with half a plate of something that is less pizza and more pineapple and bacon and eggs and eggplant and meatballs and zebra.

This fic... THIS FIC! Fluff and sweetness and no angst in sight and yet, it's still Charles and Erik, and there are kittens - including an evil one called Shaw! - and... and... and... This is as feel!good as it gets, peeps 8)
