According to TVbtN, CBS will renew Hawaii 5-0, Mike&Molly and Blue Bloods for S2 on Wednesday. Congratulations to their fans!

And I'm really disappointed by USA new summer series. After Fairly Legal failed to catch my interest, I hoped for something... great *sigh* But both Suits and Necessary Roughness don't seem... all that good? Suits looks pretty much like WhiCo 2.0 and NR is a weekly tearjerker. I will give a try to Suits, it might surprise me even though I hate shows about lawyers, but I think I'll pass on NR altogether. Meh.

I felt really angry/disappointed/annoyed when, some time ago, Brad Wright stated once and for all that there would be no more SG-1 or SGA movies. Ever again. But then, I read this article and can I say, a bullet dodged?

The third Stargate SG-1 movie would have finally revealed the top-secret Stargate program to the world, Stargate executive producer Joseph Mallozzi revealed on his blog this week.

(...)

Mallozzi said that, even after those shows’ sets were taken down and key pieces auctioned off, he still held out hope that Revolution and the Atlantis movie (titled Stargate: Extinction) might still be made. (...)

“I still held out hope for both movies because, in the case of Stargate: Revolution, the lionshare of the action would have been off-world and ship-based while, in the case of Stargate: Extinction, although there was some action on Atlantis itself (eminently achievable through the magic of VFX), much of the story takes place on Earth and off-world,” he explained.

WTF?! The Stargate program revealed?! No, just no. I'm now so glad that the movie was canned. There would've been no way back from that and I never ever wanted to see the SGC revealed. Part of the show's charm was that the whole thing was Top Secret! And completely CGI Atlantis? The gate room and all? For real?!

Wow, I never thought I would say that but man, I'm so glad that these movies weren't made after all...

Day 18...

Reader: Templemarker

Fandoms: Star Trek: Reboot, Supernatural, various RPF etc.

Reasons: What a great voice. Her recordings aren't entirely clean - sometimes, when she accentuates words, it wheezes and crackles - but her reading makes up for it!

Rec: "These Kids, They Lost Their Graces" by affectingly, a wonderful Kirk/Bones tale!

"Graduate Vulcan for Fun and Profit" by lazulisong, read by templemarker | Gen | It really does take a village to raise a Jim. | 1hr. 27mins.

Pre-Reformation Vulcan has words for familial relationships that Jim isn't really sure exist outside it, and they all boil down to 'us' and 'them'. There were shades of meaning, of course -- 'one of us married to one of them as a hostage, so technically they are one of them but we can't actually bomb the shit out of them because they have someone who's one of us with them -- at least until the one of us with them succeeds in poisoning their food supply, because we don't poison water supplies and regard it like most humans regard having a nice barbeque with Mom .... as the main dish', or 'one of them who is one of us because the enemy of my enemy etc etc etc' -- but it all described a society deeply suspicious of each other. Jim's never actually come across a word to succinctly describe 'your step-aunt's mother's other husband but one's stepsister's cousin's half-siblings' in any language but pre-Reformation Vulcan and Bones' peculiar old-South Anglish dialect. Even then, Bones just called them 'shirt-tail relatives -- I dunno, ask Mama how we know 'em, she knows' -- which is very Vulcan of Bones, come to think of it.

This is seriously one of my most favorite ST:Reboot fics. Like EVER! I laughed and I was in tears because it's so awesome and so hilariously funny and so touching and so sad at the same time and overall it's OMG AMAZING! Especially in podfic form!
