Day 2: Your favorite episode

Gold: Echoes. What a funny episode. There was humor. There was action. We saw what the characters did off duty, at least in this ep: Teyla meditated, Ronon slept meditated too and John and Rodney were whale watching. The planet and the galaxy were explored. There was team love. And did I mention just how funny that ep was?

Silver: The Prodigal. A rare gem of S5.5 that was otherwise mostly boring to annoying. TP was simply awesome. John and Rodney got to be the geeks AND the heroes. Teyla kicked major ass. Ronon and Woolsey had a few scenes together. The Michael story line was concluded. It was one action-packed, kick-ass episode that I hadn't thought the writers were capable of writing anymore.

Bronze: Midway. Yes, Teyla was barely in it (not the writers' fault, for once), but other than that, the episode rocked my socks. Ronon and Teal'c were amazing! John and Rodney saved the collective ass of some pretty dumb scientists and most importantly, that easy peasy way home was destroyed, courtesy of Kavanagh.

There were many other awesome episodes, like The Arc, Inferno, Outcast, Adrift, Be All My Sins Remember'd..., but those three came to my mind immediately.

Synopsis... )

Review: This book had a better overall plot than "Assassin's Creed: Reneissance", on the other hand, Ezio got dumber with age. I mean, I know that Rodrigo, Cesare and Lucrezia Borgia and Micheletto were real historical figures and the author couldn't have just killed them when he wanted, but he could've written it so that their survival wouldn't make Ezio look like an incompetent idiot. Also, I never really understood the whole Apple thing, what it was and why it was even needed for the story. Was it a part of the game? Fine, then make a good, intelligent use of it, not the way it was actually used in the book, just to see pretty but inexplicable pictures. The Apple barely helped Ezio at all, yet it insisted it helped enough and he shouldn't overuse it. Good idea, badly mangled.

You know, I tried reading a fanfic this morning and I just couldn't get into it. I'm more into books at the moment. It's one of these phases I go through on a regular basis. Either I'm into fanfics or into books, never into both at the same time. Weird.

Which brings me to OMG BOOKS! Yes, I need to read more. Why? Just take a look at all the books that I have at home (e-books not included, of course):

Pictoral evidence! )

Oh, the Winchester boys made it to BuddyTV's 'The 15 Most Dangerous Characters on TV', Nr. 9 & 10. Cool!

ETA: And Supernatural won EW's The Best TV Show of 2010! Hurray!

The Menagerie 1+2: I know that this was basically a re-telling of the episode The Cage that took place before the show, but I have to say that it just felt way too dragged out and slow. I mean, it did keep me guessing about the hows and whys of Spock's reasoning, but overall... A bit meh considering it was written by Gene Roddenberry himself, I would've expected more. Besides, what Spock did was absolutely inexcusable and I can't believe that Kirk let it slide like that. I understand that Spock is his friend and he's making allowances for him, but this was a bit over the top, IMHO. Oh, and there was Nurse Chapel's actress as Number One in the old crew, hehe!
