Day 16 - Your guilty pleasure show:

Dante's Cove. The acting was bad, the story-lines ridiculous - hey, it was a gay soap about witches! - but man, I loved it - until they broke up Toby and Kevin, that is. After that, I dropped the show because they were my OTP! :( Not that Ambrosius' obsession with Kevin wasn't intriguing, but I liked it much better when Kevin and Toby fought against Ambrosius together... Oh well. But the music was awesome in any case! Matthew Duffy's music, that is. I even bought his CD after that!

The trailer for ABC's new show No Ordinary Family looks awesome. Like a funny Heroes! I'm no big fan of Julie Benz and I haven't seen Michael Chiklis in anything yet, but I'll definitely give this show a try!

You know, this book reminded me a lot of Matrix. Or The Ring. Seriously. A computer game that nobody's allowed to talk about makes high school students behave in a really weird way. Nick, who at first doesn't get it at all, falls hard and fast for the game and doesn't even realize how far he has fallen, until the game orders him to kill his own professor.

I reviewed this book for my boss and I have to say that I couldn't put it down. I was so interested in finding out what's behind the game, what's the big plan, the main goal. It's easy to read, very accessible. But I did like the "real world" dealings better than the "game scenes" which was the only thing that irked me a bit. Also, Nick was a real teenager - meaning, he was not always likable; something terrible needed to happen to tear him out of his obsession.

So, of all the new shows various networks picked-up, I plan to check out:

Blue Bloods (CBS)
The Cape (NBC, midseason)
Chase (NBC)
The Good Guys (Fox)
Hawaii Five-O (CBS)
No Ordinary Family (ABC)
Terra Nova (Fox, midseason)
Undercovers (NBC)

Hm, that's not bad :)

Also, USA Network picked up two new shows:

A Legal Mind, revolves around a brilliant young man who gets a job at a big corporate law firm without having his college degree.

Necessary Roughness features a tough, divorced female sports therapist as the protagonist.

Well, neither appeals to me, to be honest... :( Of all the shows USA picked up lately, only Covert Affairs sounds somewhat interesting. The rest... blah.
