Guilty Pleasures...

I have one guilty pleasure - South American and Mexican telenovelas. On the one hand, I think they are kind of stupid, but on the other hand, I just can't stop watching them.

My recent obsession is Mi Gorda Bella which you can translate as My Fat Beauty. It's a really great series with lotsa beautiful people, theatrical gestures and overdone grimaces that make one smile and even laugh. Right now, Valentine figured out that Orestes is Silver Lilly, the thief, and she is mad like hell at him for deceiving her even though she pretended to be someone else too *grin* So cheesy, but so fun too :P Poor poor Orestes though "One of my sisters is in an asylum, the other likes to strip in a bar. My father is lame, lying in a hospital, and my mother is a whore." Yikes, poor boy ;)

You seem to be really hooked. God, it is difficult to leave them after they catch you. Tell me. There are very few different things to watch on TV in Mexico besides telenovelas. Only 4 years out of my own country made me leave them.

The telenovela I loved the best - besides Mi Gorda Bella that is - was Corazón Salvaje! Yay. I love historical romances and this one simply touched me! :)

That is one of my favorites. I actually had the idea of writing a GW fic loosely based on that story. It was a shame that the main actor died last year.

You mean Eduardo Palomo? He died? What happened?

Yes, he died last year. There were plans to do the second part of the telenovela. He was dinning with friends and suddenly he had a heart attack. He died immediately and was like 40 years old.
