Hannibal 101

katikatHannibal's rating was 1.6 demo, second after The Office's 1.7 for NBC last night. It got approximately the same numbers as Grimm did when they tried to air it in that spot. So... I guess it's good enough for them to air all 13 episodes at least. Let's just hope it doesn't drop too much in week 2!
Now about the show itself. Gosh, I loved it. I watched the pilot three times already. It's so weird and Mads Mikkelsen is kinda hard to understand, he has a lisp and he speaks with an accent, so... But the show itself... I love the visuals, the strange music, Hannibal's obsession with Will... This is actually everything I wanted The Mentalist to be.
Like when Hannibal visited Will in his motel room. You could only see them, nothing of the room itself, nothing to distract you from them. I loved the part where Will asked Hannibal about how he saw him and Hannibal narrowed his eyes and just LOOKED at Will.
Or when Hannibal killed the girl just to help Will SEE the killer. Or when he accompanied Will to the construction site. And my very favorite bit, when Will was going all "Nonononono...", clutching the girl's slashed throat and Hannibal walked in. Hannibal was all so "Hm, interesting..." until he looked at Will and saw how totally out of it Will was, all bloody and shaking so hard. And then Hannibal just stepped in and took over. I think he felt that if he didn't, if the girl died, it would break Will and that wasn't what he wanted, not yet anyway. Though I do think he will push Will and push to see just how far he can go with him him before Will breaks.
And then the scene at the hospital, when Will found Hannibal sleeping in the girl's room, just holding her hand...
I just adore how protective everybody is of Will in this show. I mean, even the biggest baddie, Hannibal Lecter himself! Gosh, this is pushing all my buttons!
