The movie isn't even in the theaters yet and web sites are already spreading rumors that Chris Evans might be replaced in his part as Captain America:
Please, tell me this is just a promo stunt to get people talking about the movie. From the promos, I'm not sure about the movie itself - though, I wasn't sure about Thor and ended up loving it, just like X-Men! - but Chris Evans looks amazing in his part! I mean, remember the bruhaha that surrounded Chris Hemsworth's casting as Thor? And he was abso-frickin'-lutely fantastic, just the right mix of strong-enough-to-crush-your-skull and cheeky. And when he smiled, I absolutely lit up, what a gorgeous man and a great actor...
So, I really hope that it's just a stunt. Marvel, your movies are amazing, stick to your guns and don't let naysayers sway you! And give us another X-Men movie!
Talking about X-Men. So far, it earned "only" 286 mil. USD worldwide. It makes me so sad because it's a fantastic movie that deserves much more attention. I mean, for once, critics and fans actually agree in rating a film high, go figure. I'll be seeing it in the theater again next week, together with
matimate, another hardcore slasher! Can't wait! \o/
When Chris Evans was cast as the new Captain America for this summer's "Captain America: The First Avenger" and the upcoming "The Avengers," the news was met with varied reactions from comic book fans.
We've got some potentially good news for those of you who don't quite buy Evans in the role. Well, it's good news if Sebastian Stan is more your type. Stan, who plays Captain America's sidekick Bucky in the films, may be getting an upgrade, as the comic books do feature a storyline where Tony Stark promotes Bucky to Captain America after Steve Rogers dies.
When PopWrap's Jarett Wieselman sat down with Stan to discuss this possibility, he stayed mum, saying, "I'll let you find that out for yourself." Wieselman says Stan didn't seem particularly psyched about the idea - particularly because of the intense training schedule Chris Evans endured to get Captain America-worthy pecs. Link
