I love people's comments to that article: "There's already a show like that on the CW and it's called Supernatural." Seriously, this sounds basically like the idea Kripke had pitched all the years back, before he came up with the idea of two brothers on the road; you remember the idea he had, about a journalist investigating the supernatural, and the WB told him "Naaaaaah"? And then he pitched the Winchester brothers and used the Buffy and The X-Files line too, exactly like that.
I don't know what to think about it, to be honest. IMHO, it sounds more like SPN's replacement than a companion for TVD...
