So, Amazon US is taking pre-orders for Batman: Under the Red Hood, you know, the animated movie with Jensen Ackles' voicing Red Hood?

Well, does it make me a geek that I'm actually considering buying this? I actually have three good reasons, you know?
a) I used to love the Batman animated series, though I hated the Batman Beyond one where Bruce Wayne was an old, rickety guy and the new Batman looked kinda ridiculous.
b) Jensen Ackles! \o/
c) I started reading comic books lately - right now, I'm reading "Lex Luthor: Man of Steel" - and I'm loving it...
Anyone else considering giving this one a go?
Man, I feel geeky! And I'm lovin' it! *dances*
ETA: Man, I love this vid: Andrea Romano talks about Jensen's work on the movie!

Date: 2010-05-13 04:08 pm (UTC)have you seen the crisis on infinite earths film yet with james woods? That's really good but Mark Harmon is superman - talk about messing with your head.....
it's one of the best movies I've seen this year, that's geeky
there's this fantastic line in it where Batman faces down his evil alterego, James Woods, and says "there is a difference between us, we both looked into the abyss, but you blinked" or something very similar and it was like BATMAN ROCKS!!!!!

Date: 2010-05-13 08:32 pm (UTC)christopher Nolan describes it as the best batman movie of all time ever and i'm inclined to agree, the christian bale stuff is good, but phantasm is epic
there's a few of those animated straight to video movies
the avengers, iron man (which is great and rivals the live action one but the two completely disagree on canon) the marvel ones are the ones popping in my head, Dr Strange, but there are lots of DC ones as well and the marvel ones are great but the DC ones are fabulous
I'd love to see them do the Hush storyline, but I'm a purist like that, Jim Lee art and a Loeb storyline, not the OMG it's morrison who is going to die fear, but a fantastic story regardless
also are you reading Batman and Sons on deviant art

edit, black cat is brill, but you need to be spoiled for it, Terry from Batman Beyond was Batman's clone, where the Cadmus program tried to recreate him but then decided against it, that it was too cruel to do to a child.
so in this he is Batman's son openly

Date: 2010-05-13 04:58 pm (UTC)I'm unsure about the casting for Nightwing, NPH is too tenor for me, but we'll see, I could be wrong.
And Andrea Romano (the voice casting director) is a goddess in voice casting. If she says Jensen is good (and she has been very complimentary) then jensen is GOOD.
