I have had this DVD at home for ages. Literally years. And finally, FINALLY, I got around to actually watch it. I remember loving this trilogy on TV! In this one Steve Carella is played by Dale Midkiff, the lovely, lovely actor from Time Trax and The Magnificent Seven! And here, he's as awesome as ever!

This movie deals with rape so it won't be everybody's cuppa. But I loved how the issue was portrayed and for the first time ever I actually saw Erika Eleniak as a really strong woman - she usually played pretty bimbos before - she was really great as Det. Burke. I loved that she could put her foot down and deal. She was in distress but she dealt with it, no rescue necessary. And even Bert - Det. Kling - her lover had to take a step back and accept that she knew how to take care of herself. That was really great.

What I loved best, though? The wonderful relationship between Steve and his deaf wife Teddy. The actors had the perfect chemistry and their characters were so incredibly lovely together. I just adored it!

Oh, speaking of Bert Kling. This character was played by Paul Johansson and seeing him here... I suddenly got this terrible craving to watch Highlander: The Raven again. I loved him as Nick Wolfe. But this is a show that I don't own on DVD and I don't plan on getting it on DVD. Why? Because of what went down BTS.

Elizabeth Gracen who played Amanda of The Highlander fame went literally nuts during the filming. She turned into this psychotic bitch and harassed everybody on the set. So the hatred between the leads, Gracen and Johansson, coupled with mediocre ratings lead to the cancellation. I hate stuff like that. It's really hard for me separate the actor from their part.

But I guess I will have to get over it, somehow, in this case because Amanda and Nick had amazing chemistry. Like BURNING! And it's just one season long. I think I have it downloaded... somewhere. And I loved the ending...

PEOPLE! FLIST! You have failed me! Why, oh, why didn't anyone tell me that Big Finish - the audiobook company that's producing audio dramas for shows like Doctor Who, Stargate etc. - brought us this GEM! Season 2 of The Highlander audio books - the first one was narrated by Adrian Paul himself - and it's called "The Four Horsemen": link. THE FOUR HORSEMEN, people, it's the secret frickin' history of Methos, Kronos, Silas and Caspian! And it's narrated by the actors who played them, Peter Wingfield, Valentine Pelka etc. The FRICKIN' four horsemen! *ROTF*

Synopsis:

For centuries, they battled the forces of light, murdering, pillaging and terrorising their way across the globe. Then, through the betrayal of one of their number, the Four Horsemen rode no longer. But before their ultimate end, each was the target of a very personal vendetta striking to the core of the Horsemen's seemingly unbreakable bond. Now the secret history of Kronos, Silas, Caspian and Methos can finally be revealed...

Contains four stories:
2.1 Brothers
2.2 All the King's Horses
2.3 The Pain Eater
2.4 The Promise

FLIST! IT'S METHOS AND KRONOS! EEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Ehm, as you might have noticed, I'm a tad excited! \o/

Finally, caught a part of Stonehenge Apocalypse on TV and you know what? It's actually a pretty neat movie. Sure, a bit cheesy like most apocalyptic made-for-TV films but really good nonetheless. And it was awesome to see Misha Collins, Torri Higgins and Peter Wingfield in one movie together. Even though I can't believe that spoilers! )

And you know what? Seeing Peter Wingfield again, it made me want to re-watch The Highlander. I have all seasons on DVD and I have yet to see them. Man, I loved Methos! Duncan/Methos are the only fics that I actually read for TH! I know that people loved Ritchie but I didn't. I never liked him and I actually found him rather unlikable. Didn't shed a tear for him. So... once I finish Mag7, maybe I'll give TH a go :)

According to Big Finnish's magazine, they will start producing Highlander audiobooks too, 4 this year, beginning this April. And all of them will be read by Adrian Paul. That could be really cool! *bounces*

Too bad that I'm not a Dr. Who fan, though. I would love Big Finnish if I were...

Last night, I watched SGA's The Ark and Sunday.

I loved The Ark. Some very nice banter, hero!Sheppard, Rodney worried about John, some awesome scenes with Sheppard and Ronon, Sheppard in jeopardy... And the last scene in the infirmary, John telling Teyla not to feel "special", his expression... XD Awesome! I also loved the audio commentary, especially the part where Martin Wood was explaining how they filmed the scenes in the shuttle, that he almost had to sit in Joe Flanigan's lap and that he had a hand-held camera in his hand and he wasn't just shaking the camera but he was also gripping Joe's shoulder and shaking him! And he remembered asking Joe if it was okay with him and Joe told him that "Yeah, go ahead." XD Oh, and the scene where one of the crew/cast members forgot the Snickers bar and a bottle of water on the set and nobody noticed it until the show went on air and fans pointed it out. Martin went all "that was embarrassing."

And then there was Sunday. Let's just say that I cried. A lot! I loved the little scenes with John and Ronon best, them just relaxing and Ronon following Sheppard around like a giant puppy. Oh, and them practicing with the sticks and the blue scarfs... It felt like Ronon just needed a reason to grab John's butt! Oh, and Ronon called Sheppard "John" for the first time... And then there was the whole Carson thing and I cried my eyes out. The piper playing while the gate dialed was... omg, I'm tearing up again. Everybody did an awesome job there, especially Jason Momoa. He looked so stoic but there were tears in his eyes and it was so touching. And the very last scene on the pier... Aww. One thing that felt a bit jarring was the fact that Carson should have been Rodney's best friend. That just didn't click right and I'm not talking as a Sheppard!girl here. I mean, Rodney and Carson, they barely talked to each other, spending almost no time at all together - well, except for the kiss, of course. They were friends, of that I have no doubt, but best friends? I'm not so sure there...

OMG, just 3 more eps and I'm done with S3! How did that happen? O.O

Other things:
- Nikki Aycox will be attending EyeCon? (I think that it was EyeCon) Hm, good for her and for the fans. It leaves me cold though - I just don't like the actress. Too affected for my liking. And the perpetual lemon-chewing grimace doesn't help. But I'm happy for the fans who do like her. I hope that they will enjoy themselves.

- More and more spoilers for SPN's S4 keep popping up and I'm still remaining spoiler-free. How awesome am I? *crows*

- I read Ausiello's latest EW.com spoiler column and I'm not sure if I like the new spoilers for NCIS. Hm... X( I will not abandon the show because I just adore the whole cast and the whole ensemble but I just hope that the writers know what they are doing.

- [livejournal.com profile] mysticdreamer32's latest entry with the awesome, awesome pic of Peter Wingfield made me crave Highlander once more. I think that I will add the DVDs to my wishlist too :) I mean, come on, Methos rocks!

- Hey, Amazon already shipped Eureka S2 my way. Huh? Every site says that the DVDs should not be out until next week? I'm confused now...
