I felt like watching sci-fi again! And out of the pile of unwatched DVDs, I pulled out Farscape. I've never actually seen the show in its entirety. I saw bits and pieces on SAT1 back when, but never more than a handful of episodes.

I love the main music theme. It's fantastic! It feels like a mix of classical music and tribal rhytms. Very original.

I also love the female characters in this show, both Aeryn and Zhaan. I was really surprised when Zhaan pulled this:

Her body looks so androgynous. I think it's really awesome. You know, that they didn't choose a busty female to show around. Very original. And she's gorgeous. And they both, Aeryn and Zhaan, kick major ass!

And it's awesome that Crichton is a thinker, not a fighter! Nice change of dynamics from the usual cliché...

The only character that really gets on my nerves is Rygel. Eh...

In case you're wondering what other space faring sci-fi shows I own on DVD: Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, Battlestar Galactica (the old one), Babylon 5, Star Trek: Enterprise. I also plan to buy Star Trek: Voyager (once Amazon UK drops the price!) because I just love Chakotay!

And today, it was G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. And the heck if I know why people hate the movie so much. I love it! The friendship between Duke and Rip, the ship between Duke and Baroness, the CGI and the fights... Sure, there are moments where it's cheesy and just a bit - okay, a lot - nuts, but overall, I think it's a really good movie, IMHO, no matter what anybody says.

And because I really liked Duke, I'm not sure if I will like the new G.I. Joe movie. I guess they wanted to revamp it because of all the complains, reboot the franchise, so to speak, but... Well, who knows, maybe I'll end up loving it. Stranger things happened.

Also, I received my Farscape box set today! Woohoo! The whole series plus The Peacekeeper Wars. How awesome is that? \o/

-- Yet ANOTHER delay with the SGA and SG-1 tie-ins? *sigh* Not that I don't have anything else to read but considering the books have been pre-paid for months now, I don't think it's too much to ask to have them actually delivered, right?

-- I succumbed and ordered The Definitive Collection of Farscape and Peacekeeper Wars. Amazon UK has it for just 45Ł!

-- Also, I can't believe I'm saying this, I decided to give Doctor Who one very last chance, starting with S5 and the new doctor and Amy Ponds. Seriously, if this "reboot" can't get me interested, the show's obviously a lost cause for me *hands*

As TVShowsonDVD.com posted:

As sci-fi television classic Farscape marks its 10th anniversary, A&E Home Entertainment and the Jim Henson Company partner on a re-launch of the DVD franchise.

The re-packaged line, slated for November 2009, includes the first-ever complete series megaset featuring all four out-of-this world seasons!

I think I might buy this one once it comes out. I caught an ep here and there when SAT1 was airing it a few years ago and it looked interesting.

And that reminds me, I need a Ben Browder icon!
