don't be dull, be fannish

A full synopsis of AoS S2 was revealed: link. My favorite part was the bit about FitzSimmons, of course:

EEEEEEEEEE! I love FitzSimmons so much. And Angsty!FitzSimmons? HUZZAH!

And I'm done with the season. Hm, how to sum it up? The first half is boring as hell. Loosely connected standalone fillers. It got better around 113 and when Colson ( spoilers ). But when it got really good was around episode 116, in the episodes that followed Captain America: The Winter Soldier. They finally lost the standalone format and went serialized and it was much better, much more suspenseful.

* Biggest surprise? Skye. She turned out to be amazing which was a shock to me because I couldn't stand her at the beginning.
* Biggest letdown? Ward. ( Spoilers! )
* Greatest addition? Trip!
* Biggest bore? John Garrett.
* My OTP? FitzSimmons. They made me actually bawl in the season finale. ( Spoilers. )

So, it turned out to be a good show but I still feel like it was a letdown, it took them 2/3 of a season to actually get going. That's way too long. I hope they learned from their mistakes and S2 will be much more suspenseful.

I think this is a show better watched in batches rather than ep by ep. I'm still not enamored with it, it could've been so much better, and some of the characters are really bland or downright irritating - hello, Skye! - but I like how the team's gelling together.

You know, the first time around, I watched the show with high hopes and it was a huge letdown. Now that I know where I stand with it, I decided to focus on the good stuff - namely on FitzSimmons.* Fitz and Simmons are smart and funny and sweet and so cute together! And I adore their accents. They are all puppies and flowers for me.

I just finished episode 105 - the Skye reveal - and so far, I like it. It's good, brainless fun, though I hope it gets a bit deeper along the way.

* I mean, this tactic worked for me with H50. I started watching it for Steve and Danny because people kept squeeing about them but since I really don't like Alex O'Loughlin, it didn't click for me. But when I decided to have another go at it, I latched onto Chin Ho Kelly played by the amazing Daniel Dae Kim and suddenly, it seemed so much better!

It looks fantastic! Hopefully, they will be able to keep up the quality of special effects. I'm not worried about the story, it's Joss Whedon, after all. But this looks really expensive. Also, here for Ming-Na kicking major ass!
