don't be dull, be fannish

Rise is pretty much urban fantasy. Sadie, a newly turned vampire, is looking for her sires, to kill them all. Sounds intriguing, huh? But it isn't.

God, the movie is so boring! And cheap looking. I would give it 2 stars out of 10 only because Lucy Liu is playing Sadie. But I didn't care one iota about her or her quest, her struggle. The movie was so incredibly flat. The only interesting part was Sadie's reluctant friendship/alliance with Michael Chiklis's Det. Rawlins. Everything else... Eh. Though James D'Arcy was pretty as Bishop. How can you make a movie about a vampire hunting other vampires boring? Yet, they managed it, go figure!

Conclusion? Only for die-hard Lucy Liu fans!
