I'm now finally all caught up on TBBT! Go me, go me! *throws confetti*

Yes, Sheldon is still my favorite part of the show. Honestly, I watch for him - BTW, my mom loves him too! I have to admire Jim Parsons for being able to keep straight face while spouting utter nonsense! XD And would you believe that he's from Texas too?

Though I have to say that I don't like Penny much. Sure, she's cute and very down-to-earth, but she's... yeah, okay, she's dumb. But what I dislike most about her is the derisive way in which she speaks about the guys' hobbies. I loved it when Sheldon called her on it in 114 and pointed out how hypocritical she was, scoffing at their comic books and their fan figures and all that while wearing Hello Kitty panties and collecting stuffed animals on her bed. I cheered! Yeah, her ridicule chaffs a lot. And what does she and Leonard actually talk about when they are not having sex?

But I digress. I love, love the humor! Sheldon and McKay - guys who brighten my day with their caustic remarks! Awesome! And a new episode on Monday! \o/

My problem with her is that her moments of meanness are rather frequent - at least one per episode. Comments like "Get a life" or "You have nothing better to do?" or the eye-rolling are re-visited ep after ep. I mean, if she was something more than a college drop-out with no carreer prospects and barely a buck in her saving account, I could maybe understand her attitude. But her biggest accomplishment so far was snatching Leonard as a boyfriend - after a string of losers, a new one every ep - so I don't think she has any moral high ground to criticize others.

I don't know, maybe because I'm closer in character to Sheldon than to Penny, it really, really irks me.

I like Sheldon best, too, but he pretty much says or at least implies every episode that he is smarter or better than all his friends and he often enough calls Penny dumb in one way or another so it doesn't bother me so much when she fires back. And they picked up the point a few times that she feels self-conscious about her lack of education or career, especially around the guys.

Of Penny's interaction with all the guys, I find bantering with Sheldon most effective. When they prank-warred, it was glorious. :) She and Leonard are as entertaining together as milquetoast.
